Virginia gun rights activists have filed a $12 million defamation lawsuit against Katie Couric and other makers of a documentary over an edit they say misrepresented the activists’ response to a question.
The segment in “Under the Gun” shows nearly 10 seconds of silence after Couric asks members of the Virginia Citizens Defense League how felons or terrorists could be prevented from purchasing a gun without background checks.
Activists can be heard on audio of the exchange responding to Couric’s question almost immediately.
Couric was executive producer of the film. She said in a message on the film’s website in May that she regrets that the edit was misleading and that she didn’t raise her initial concerns about the segment “more vigorously.”
Couric’s spokesman declined to comment Tuesday.

It is so hard to me to believe this woman is still on TV! She is and has been dishonest for at least 30 yrs, or when mistake never apologizes to whomever she slandered or apologizes to the American public. I hope they get an honest judge and/or jury if

Katie Couric is NOT a nice person. “America’s Sweetheart,” my foot. She’s a dishonest, condescending faux journalist– with a wrinkly neck. I hope she personally has to pony up $$$, as SHE is the one who committed slander by her actions. But the network has insurance for frauds like her, so she will probably skate free. Fie on her.
I think its great that the gun right activists are suing her. She tried to put out lies and now its coming back to haunt her. I hope they win!!!
all they have to do is present facts and contrast them with what liberal media lies. The truth will come out and katie who hates guns but i’ll bet has her OWN security will look like the liar she is. Most of the Mainstream media is discredited anyway. they are being exposed every day for failure to do their job. Sean Hannity is right “Journalism as we know it died in 2009”. And CNN proves it every day so does MSNBC.
Katie Couric is a nothing more than an activist parading as a journalist. She and her production crew knew what they were doing. This pregnant pause was not an editing accident. Katie has been in the news business for over two decades. She and her staff had no problem taking liberties in their editing to make someone look bad. The best thing people can do is turn the TV off rather than watch this propaganda queen.

“everyone gets a trophy” results is now being shown to everyone! A group of people who obtained a degree while allegedly using the symbolic 2nd floor balcony to inhale 2nd hand smoke & sniff empties. Espn has a demo. of this in several shows with a “group” of know nothings, has bens, and those who are suspected of knowing, jabbering for a whole program and not saying anything of content. These are examples of “everyone gets a trophy”. Guess who instigated this? Pure communist.

Well I wish the pro-gun folks all the legal luck they can muster and I hope they get a favorable ruling for the case…..the need to burn the feathers of the left has become a priority…..
