Warheads on foreheads! The U.S. Air Force just bagged a top ISIS leader, killed by airstrike in Syria. The U.S. military confirmed his death Thursday.
The military official said that Abu Jandal al-Kuwaiti, a top terror mastermind, was killed near Tabqa Dam. He was a key leader of the group in Raqqa, the city considered ISIS’ stronghold.
He was a former member of the “War Committee” and played a part in the recapture of Palmyra, Syria. No other details were available.
The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said earlier this week that he had been targeted by U.S.-led coalition aircraft. And IS supporters on social media had indicated on Tuesday that he had been killed.
The U.S. confirmation was the first official coalition acknowledgement of his death.
The U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces have been battling Islamic State fighters near the strategically located dam, aided by a barrage of coalition airstrikes in the region.

Wonder how many million dollars it cost to bring down this one person. I’m not at all being critical of the action, but no sooner is one taken down than another takes his place. If we intend to fight a war on terror, we had better stop fighting individuals and start fighting the enemie as a unit, otherwise we are Whittling against ourselves and peeing into the wind. Dawgt#, I am a retired USAF officer and while I believe your your basic battle philosophy is sound, there is far more to the issue. True, others will replace the one killed, but they will have to spend a great deal of their time avoiding a similar fate, and the “new guy” initially will not be as proficient as the one killed—-and it is a major propaganda accomplishment, when leaders are captured or killed and important “bad guys”, understand they too can be removed. And, we do use the drones to attack larger groups, I believe the use of a drone to kill an enemy leader is money well spent.—overall, it saves both lives and money. In this case, I suspect there were many of the leader’s staff also killed. along with reams of battle plans and equipment.

Don, I thank you so very much for your insight and for your service to our Country; of which is the underlying reason for my post. I am a Disabled Vietnam Veteran and as I reflect upon the 50+ thousand lives lost in that war, I am struck in wonderment of how many of those lives could have been saved and how much quicker the war would have ended, had we fought a war instead of a “police action”. It just really burns me the way Obama is dribbling troops in, endangering their lives just to say that he is making an effort. That is not an effort, it is suicide. It would be better not to do anything if there is no commitment to the cause. I’m not at all advocating war, but Sir, we have been in war since 2001 and just because Obama quit the fight in 2008, does not mean that the enemy has stopped killing us. Correct. As long as Muslims obey their books, they will want control of all. However the most effective counter “attack” is to convert them from Islam to the true religion of peace, in order to gain “peace on earth and good will toward men” (all mankind).

First let me say this I am a vet, I served in the US Navy from 1979 to 1985 and I reenlisted into the US Air Force reserve in 2004 (because of 911 it took me 3 years to convince my X wife that I was not going to get killed by reenlisting) I served from 2004 to 2010 in the US Air Force Reserve.
If we are going to fight a war we need to fight that dam war like we want to win it!! We need to take the dam gloves off and let our military do what they do best and that is fighting the dam war!!! Hopefully when Mr. Trump takes over this will happen, I think with his cabinet selections that he has chosen it will happen!
This country has been doing nothing but spinning its wheels for the last 8 to 10 years. We have NOT been fighting this war to win it!! Most of that can simply be blamed on President Obama and his need to bow down to the Muslim world for some reason!!
What needs to happen is we need to not only attack ISIS and groups like them, but we need to kill off the ideology that creates these radical Islamic terrorists in the first place!! To do that we must have the Muslims who adhere to the Mecca version of the Quran stand up and denounce all and any actions of any of these radicals. Not only do they need to stand up and denounce them they need to stand side by side with us on the battle field!! They need to take a lead position in destroying ISIS and all radical Muslims throughout the world. Some of these Muslims are fighting against ISIS right now in Iraq and Afghanistan, but there needs to be more of them!
We can kill every member of ISIS, Al Qaeda, Hamas or any other radical Islamic terrorist group in the world and it will not make a difference unless we kill off the ideology that is fueling these groups!! We as the western world or as the Christian world or whatever you want to call it cannot win this war on terror unless we kill off the ideology. We can weaken them immensely and we can kill a lot of them and maybe even destroy ISIS but unless we kill the root cause it will come back!
How do you kill off an ideology unless you kill off everyone who expounds that wretched ideology? You must also destroy all printed and recorded document that promote that ideology. If you can do that, you will be able to kill the ideology. However, knowing human nature, whenever you create a vacuum, something else is created to fill that vacuum.

The article said airstrike not drone, so did I miss something? I know it is not always “Take out the leader and the rest of the insects disperse”, but it is a major hit and it does cause a lot of damage, and hopefully they lose a lot of attack plans. Unfortunately they will not stop, but the more people who die, or get sick of killing (and they do sometimes and turn to Christ, yes they have dreams and visions of Christ, and some have a Saul experience and become Pauls, it’s wonderful), and many others on the run who have lost everything, stop serving the Muslim god Allah, and start serving the true God, because they too are tired of the killing, torture, loss and grief. So although it seems a never ending battle, hundreds of years ago they fought in the crusades, and the radical Muslims were mostly stopped, so it can be dealt with, but it will probably involve some boots on the ground, I hope and pray that the casualties will be few.
They can die just as quickly with a Hellfire missile shot from a Predator Drone UAV as they could die from 1,000-pound iron bombs. Bring back carpet bombing and liquidate all of them cockroaches.
