GOP rejects controversial rule change proposal

Republican Party leaders have turned aside an effort to change the rules at the party’s upcoming national convention to make it harder for the GOP to nominate a fresh presidential candidate.

The showdown comes as many top Republicans believe the party’s two top presidential contenders, Donald Trump and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, are likely losers in this November’s general election.

The Republican Party’s rules committee rejected the proposal Thursday by voice vote.

The change was offered by Solomon Yue, a Republican National Committee member from Oregon. He says current rules give the convention’s presiding officer too much power.

Party leaders worked to defeat the plan. They say that by making any rules changes, they would be accused of trying to unfairly help a presidential hopeful.

The Associated Press contributed to this article.

Let us consider an important FACT, Cruz WILL NOT pick up Democrat crossover votes if Hellery Clanton is the Dem nominee…Kasich WILL NOT pick up Democrat crossover votes if Hellery Clanton becomes the Dem nominee… None of the projected “insert” candidates from the GOP can pick up the Democrat crossover votes…….should Hellery Clanton become the Dem nominee… Donald Trump WILL pick up the crossover Democrat votes should Hellery Clanton become the Dem nominee…Anyone saying anything different has simply NOT been paying attention.

I use the “Clanton” in reference to the Clanton gang of the late 1800’s.

Yes he will pick up Democrats because they know once he gets his whiny, bullying ass in the White House he will become the Democrat he has always been. So if you are a conservative why vote for another Democrat?

No. Actually the Democrats crossing over in the Republican primary will be voting for Hillary.
