In the midst of the much-hyped Jeffrey Epstein files release that President Donald Trump promised to deliver during his 2024 presidential campaign — despite the files being nothing short of a dud at this point — is the promise of new information surrounding the brutal 1963 assassination of then-President John F. Kennedy.
Despite Trump delivering all the U.S. government records related to decades-long mystery surrounding JFK’s killing, mystery and conspiracy continue to surround his killing — including the motives and background behind JFK’s killer, Lee Harvey Oswald.
Enter Florida Republican Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, who earlier this year led the House Oversight Committee task force on “federal secrets” to revisit the executive orders by President Trump, in both of his administrations, requiring the release of assassination files by government agencies.
Now, thanks to Luna’s efforts, it turns out that one of the longest theories on Oswald and his role in the killing of JFK has become crystal clear.
According to a new report first published by The Washington Post about the latest findings of JFK’s assassination, one of the most popular theories that has existed for decades is that Oswald might have had links to the government.
Nobody ever heard Oswold’s side of the story after Jack Ruby shot Oswald before the accused assassin could get his day in court.
Now it appears that’s no longer a theory or rumor. It turns out that Oswald did have contact with CIA assets, according to new documents.
The Washington Post reported last week that a House task force uncovered documents showing that Oswald was indeed in contact with CIA assets.
According to the report, the documents show that CIA officer George Joannides was financing and running a group of Cubans opposed to Fidel Castro.
Members of the CIA-backed group had multiple interactions with Oswald over the course of three months, according to the report.
One of the members was then allegedly approached by Oswald with an offer of help.
However, it’s unclear if the offer was accepted or if there was further contact.
But, the new report, thanks in part to the task force led by Luna has confirmed suspicions that the CIA was perhaps lying about what they know about Oswold.
Luna told The Washington Post, “This confirms much of what the public already speculated: that the CIA was lying to the American people, and that there was a cover-up.”
Luna has been at the forefront of the JFK assassination for some time now. She previously claimed that she believed there were multiple shooters – another common theory.

The official story from the government of how Oswald killed JFK relies on what’s referred to as the “Magic Bullet Theory.” It explains (it doesn’t at all to be clear) how so much damage could have been caused by a single bullet hitting multiple people. The belief was that the projectile was found on the hospital gurney.
However, analysts have noted that the Secret Service agent who found the projectile says he dug it out of the back of the limo and later placed it on the gurney.
