America’s police have one of the most dangerous jobs in the country. Tasked with protecting and serving the population and keeping our streets safe, it’s no wonder so many of them choose to head to work with the official motto of America, “In God We Trust”, written on their squad cars.
But if the Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF) has their way, police across the country will soon be forced to scrape the phrase from their vehicles for good.
Sixty-two letters have been sent to police precincts across the country this summer from the atheist political group, demanding the police remove the country’s official motto from their vehicles.
So far, no word on whether the atheist group has successfully bullied any of these police officers into compliance. But one precinct did respond to a letter from FFRF earlier this summer with their own powerful reply:
After carefully reading your letter I must deny your request for the removal of our Nation’s motto from our patrol units, and I ask that you and the Freedom From Religion Foundation go fly a kite

There’s a good Christian response, prompted by your loving God,I suppose. Why are you theists all so panic stricken and hysterical about having to defend this god of yours? Why do you need to calways be reminding/convincing yourselves that he/she/it (?) exists? No doubt to remind god that you deserve a place in heaven. So,you’re only concerned for your own selfish survival after death, then?
Jak says
Yea,
That’s right, I’m concerned about my salvation and that of all other Christians. Whether you like it or not, you are here to glorify the Lord. He,s just like Uncle Sam, he wants you. And it does not matter what you feel or think partner, you’re his.

Who in the world does the Freedom From Religion Foundation think they are?!! When did atheists become the majority and Christians become the minority? Doesn’t this country have enough problems with Obama in charge? Why don’t all the atheists hand their money over to the Christians since it has In God We Trust on it? I think we all need to drop to our knees and ask God to keep us free from the atheists.

my question exactly! The nation needs to tell them to LeAVE if they don’t like it. Myramar and Islamic countries agree with them 100%. Cuba too!
Jesus 666 says
Is god willing to prevent evil, but not able?
Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing?
Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing?
Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him god?

It is unfortunate that this atheist group is now targeting the police. I have had negative experiences with the police due to discrimination, harassment, etc. I do believe that in certain parts of America; there is corruption within the police force. My dad was a NJ policeman trained by the NYC police. I believe that some of these officers who gave me such a hard time knew this, and therefore envied me, so they screwed up my public records. Quite a few officers have shown me little or no respect…and no, I am not a lawbreaker, and no I am not black. I don’t care what sect, group, position, you are or have…that doesn’t mean you go out there and prey upon the innocent, needy, disabled, and poor. Shame on the officers who do this! But I still don’t think that these atheists have the right to give the officers a hard time for showing a belief in God. Our nation is in dire need of help right now. We have too many selfish and mean spirited people living here. May the Lord come very soon and save us from all this evil! Amen!
Jak says
Human beings are different than all other animals. We have free will where animals operate purely on instinct. God allows us to have free will, which sadly many times is our undoing. God allows sin to occur, and remember that Satan is the prince of this earth till the Lord returns. Satan works through people just like God does. Your problem is that you have no faith. If you don’t stand for something, you will fall for anything.

Is the freedom from reglion based in the South? I just happened to notice that all of the precincts listed are in the south. Those atheists can all go to hell. Apparently they have nothing better to do. Better yet they should all pack up and leave this country that was founded by God.
Justin W says
The Freedom From Religion group has nothing to do with freedom. They seek to force their ideology on everyone else. They seek to take away the freedom of others who believe different than they do. If you are offended by the nation’s motto, don’t look at it.
Halina says
It is time to put them out of business…
We should be free to practice our believes without the atheist telling us that they want to be free of religion…
No one is pressuring them to go to church or pray to whatever God they want to or not…
At the same time they try to force the rest of the country to agree to their self proclaimed rights and what is more important to adhere to them…Well you want to be free from religion so be it… Just leave the rest of us to be free
in our preferences…We do Trust In God…You are free to move out to Saudi Arabia and tell them you want to be free from proclaiming Allah… You All Have My Blessing To Do Just That…
Have a safe voyage…

They (the atheist)are just like the muslims, they want us to believe like them or be made outcast (infidel) Next thing they will want to have Christians killed for their beliefs. This is the anti-christ spirit that had already gone out when the New testament was written. Jesus said that because they hated Him, that they would hate us also, for his name. When persecution of Christians become the normal in America, you will see the separation of the sheep and goats. Only the true Christian will stand with the truth. It will mean that you cannot buy, sell or trade, and it may also mean that you will be decapitated because Jesus Himself said that some of us would be. Paul the Apostle said to die would be gain, but to live would be as Christ. Slapped, spit on, beard pulled, beaten to a bloody pulp, then killed. And all for those that hated Him. I pray God will have mercy on their soul, because when they close their eyes for the last time, it will be to late to repent and turn from their wickedness.

We the People ARE the well regulated Militia called for by the Second Amendment and the legal, legitimate constitutional power in each State. You’re illegal criminal problem and your economic bondage could end virtually overnight if you revitalize your State’s Militia. I’m working on revitalizing 15,000,000 Texas Militia to take back the Lone Star State from rogue politicians and judges as well as the criminal Banksters who have economically enslaved us for decades. The Texas Militia will “ease his pain” virtually overnight.

As usual, neither your reporter nor your commenters quite get the picture. The issue here is FREEDOM OF RELIGION.
FREEDOM OF RELIGION means no government entity promoting one religion over other religions or over no religion. Who is in the majority has no bearing on this fundamental principle. In fact, the whole point of religious freedom is protecting each person’s right to their beliefs from coercion by their neighbors or by government. And government expression of religious beliefs is indeed coercive; those who don’t share those expressed beliefs become outsiders in their own communities and their own country.
FREEDOM OF RELIGION also means not being forced to pay for the expression of your neighbor’s religious beliefs. Again, who may be in the majority is completely irrelevant.
Police officers everywhere are free to start their days by praying to whatever deity they wish — God, Allah, Sugmad, Earth Mother, whatever — or by offering Buddhist chants or by meditating or by affirming the essential nobility of humanity. They are free to carry with them whatever statements or prayers they wish. But when those statements are posted on public property using public funds, that is government promoting a specific religion and an offense against everyone else’s freedom of belief.
For those of you who do like religious statements on your police cars, how would you feel if the makeup of your community changed? How would you feel if the police cars began sporting “Allah Akbar” or some statement from Buddhism or Druidry or secular humanism? Would you enjoy seeing those statements all around you? Would you enjoy knowing your tax dollars were paying for them?
Bottom line: nobody gains respect for themselves or their beliefs by forcing those beliefs down the throats of their neighbors. You gain respect by showing respect, to yourself, to your beliefs, and to your neighbors and their beliefs. In other words, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” Hmmm…catchy saying. Anybody know where it came from?
Jerry Feldman says
Eliminating “In God We Trust” from police cars is not anti-Christian. It is not anti-any specific religion. It is anti-religion in general. A police car is not for the purpose of promoting religion. If the police want to promote religion, they should go to church. The police have no right to promote any specific religion or religion in general. Our country was founded on freedom of religion and separation of church and state supposedly guaranteed by the Bill of Rights. Some people who do not believe in religion find it offensive to have other people or government try to shove religion down their throat. Some people do not believe in lies, nonsense, fantasies, absurdities, delusions, ridiculous bull—-, and blind faith.
