For a man trying very hard to earn the 2028 Democratic presidential nomination, Gavin Newsom isn’t exactly making friends in his home state of California.
In fact, according to firsthand accounts from Newsom’s own neighbors, they want the man gone!
The clash between Newsom and his neighbors has escalated after video footage surfaced of a party being thrown at Newsom’s ritzy Sacramento-area home that allegedly caused traffic havoc after SUVs hogged spots in a no-parking zone and valets for mystery guests used all the neighborhood parking.
“They were parking there all day and it was making it hard to turn,” Newsom neighbor Andrea Marrapodi said.
“I asked security three times very nicely, saying ‘you’re blocking traffic in the neighborhood.’ They said they’d move [the vehicles] but never did,” she added.
“They don’t seem to really care about the neighbors.”
A now viral TikTok video from one of Newsom’s alleged neighbors appears to show a row of vehicles occupying a roughly half-block section next to a sign reading “No parking at any time” — a potential safety hazard for neighbors trying to navigate the narrow roadway.
Take a look —
Woman who lives on the same block as Gavin Newsom filmed the street during a party at the governor’s mansion, showing guests parking along the block in complete disregard of posted street sign regulations.

Newsom’s camp responded to the alleged neighborhood drama by mocking the complaints.
“DONALD TRUMP HAS MADE AMERICA SO DIVIDED THAT NEIGHBORS NOW DECLARE WAR ON CHRISTMAS, ONE PARKED CAR AT A TIME!” Newsom’s spokesperson, Izzy Gardon, said in a dismissive statement to The New York Post.
“MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL OF CALIFORNIA, EVEN THE GRINCHES!!”
The Newsoms moved to the home in 2019, according to reports, but later relocated to a $9 million estate in exclusive Kentfield, California.
The Fair Oaks property, which located roughly 15 miles from downtown Sacramento, is now used for fundraisers and other events.
According to Marrapodi it’s a headache in the quiet neighborhood.
“They’re valeting cars all over the place so people who live here don’t have anywhere to park,” she noted.
“And all day yesterday it was cleaning up the event, with loud trucks, parking, people screaming.”
Newsom’s wife, Jennifer Siebel Newsom, has known to bring wine to neighbors to atone for the protesters that used to flood the area, Marrapodi said.
But that did not happen at the recent party.
Marrapodi also shared that past events, including a fundraiser with Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz last year, have also made it impossible to access the street due to heavy security — meaning she had to cancel meetings due to being locked out of her own home.
And idling law enforcement cars providing security to the governor idled “24 hours a day, 7 days a week,” she added.
“When they moved to Marin we thought it would calm down,” but no such luck, she said.
Ironically, this isn’t the first instance of a high-profile California Democrat having beef with their neighbors.
According to The Post, after returning to her ritzy Brentwood district in northern Los Angeles, former Vice President Kamala Harris’ entry brought jeers from some neighbors — and more traffic.
“I don’t care that she’s back, except that they block off the road whenever she comes to town,” said one resident who lives around the corner from Harris.
“I’m embarrassed that she lives here, and I’m embarrassed that she represented the United States,” said one neighbor, a real estate investor who identified himself by first name, Lewis.
