In a surprising moment Monday, a Fox reporter in Houston, Texas went off-script while live on-air — and said the news station is trying to “keep certain information from you, the viewers.”

But she said she was fighting back by releasing the information to conservative activist James O’Keefe’s investigative journalism group Project Veritas.

FOX26 reporter Ivory Hecker told viewers that Fox Corp was “muzzling” her while covering a story about a heat wave in Texas.

“Thanks, guys,” she said as the host introduced her segment live. “But before we get to that story, I want to let you, the viewers, know that Fox Corp. has been muzzling me to keep certain information from you, the viewers.”

“And from what I’m gathering, I am not the only reporter being subjected to this,” Hecker said. “I am going to be releasing some recordings about what goes on behind the scenes at Fox because it applies to you, the viewers.”

“I found a nonprofit journalism group called ‘Project Veritas’ that’s gonna help put that out tomorrow, so tune in then,” she said before returning to the normal script.

“But as for this heatwave across Texas, you can see what it’s doing to AC units. This one, broken down as we see…”

Project Veritas’ mission statement is to “investigate and expose corruption, dishonesty, self-dealing, waste, fraud, and other misconduct in both public and private institutions in order to achieve a more ethical and transparent society.”

The conservative activism group confirmed their work with Hecker to The Daily Wire, and said they will release an interview on Tuesday evening.
