A controversial Fox News star quit the network suddenly on Friday… after being fired?
Say good-bye to liberal The Five co-host and network correspondent Geraldo Rivera.
Geraldo announced on social media that he quit his secondary role at the cable news network after being removed from his part-time position on The Five, and announced that Friday was his last ever appearance.
A spokesman from Fox News confirmed the news.
“So it doesn’t look like I’m going to be on The Five. I mean, I’m not going to be on The Five. I’ve been fired from The Five, and as a result of that, I quit Fox. So I’ll have more to say about that on Fox and Friends tomorrow morning,” Geraldo announced in a video Thursday he published on Twitter.

“We reached an amicable conclusion with Geraldo over the past few weeks and look forward to celebrating him tomorrow on Fox & Friends which will be his last appearance on the network,” a Fox News spokesman confirmed to Mediaite.
Geraldo confirmed that his departure from the show over tensions with his fellow co-host Greg Gutfeld, who also hosts of the popular late-night show Gutfeld!
“There has been a growing tension that goes beyond editorial differences and personal annoyances and gripes,” he told The Associated Press. “It’s not worth it to me.”
“I’m 80 years old,” Geraldo said. “I don’t want the friction. ‘The Five’ is too intimate a place and it gets too personal.”
The Horn News first reported in early May that Geraldo was going to be fired.
But it wasn’t all bad feelings in the end.
“I’m deeply touched, I’m honored, I love FOX, I love the people at FOX, I always will,” Geraldo said during his final appearance that honored his 23 year career at the network.
“I’ll never let anyone separate us, but I am beyond grateful for this,” he said. “This is so deeply affecting, I love you for it, thank you.”
