Longtime Fox News star Geraldo Rivera has been removed from his job as co-host of the hit show “The Five.”
Geraldo’s last time with the show will be Friday. He will remain with Fox News Channel as a correspondent.
He made the announcement Wednesday morning on social media where he called himself the “odd man out” on the show.
“Morning, it’s official, I’m off @TheFive,” he Tweeted. “My last scheduled show appearances are Thursday and Friday June 29th and 30th. It’s been a great run and I appreciate having had the opportunity. Being odd man out isn’t always easy. For the time being, I’m still Correspondent at Large.”

Geraldo joined the network in 2001 as a war correspondent. He has served as a co-host on The Five for a year.
His departure from the show may be linked to tensions with his fellow co-host Greg Gutfeld. There was speculation in early May that Geraldo was going to be ousted after comments on former Fox News star Tucker Carlson’s removal.
“My appearances today and tomorrow on The Five have been canceled,” Rivera tweeted May 4. “I’m sure there’s a good reason. Never fear, I’ll be back week after next. Stay safe and happy. Thanks.”
