Four Boston police officers investigating a report of a man with a gun have been taken to the hospital after two were dragged and two were narrowly missed by a fleeing car.
Superintendent Randall Halstead says two plainclothes officers approached the vehicle in the city’s Dorchester neighborhood at about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday. As they tried to speak to the driver, the vehicle sped away, dragging the two officers.
Two uniformed officers providing backup were narrowly missed by the fleeing vehicle.
None of the injuries is considered life-threatening. The officers’ names were not immediately made public.
Police are still looking for the vehicle, they describe as a gray or silver Chevrolet, possibly with Connecticut plates.

12AM , in plain clothes? If a man with a gun was dangerous, he’d have shot… at that hour as dangerous as things are, how did they get dragged, were they holding on to the car.???

Andy I agree, especially in light of all the violence being committed against law enforcement. We are back to the wild west where your badge doesn’t mean a thing. I would expect law enforcement to take a firmer stance in light of this rage against them. Better safe than sorry. These people who are taking these types of actions against law enforcement won’t be happy until the law goes the course of shoot first and ask questions later and that won’t be good for anyone.

The “plain-clothes” police officer situation has become very sticky. How does one know they are police officers, rather than thieves or potential murderers imitating police ?
Two, in a personal car, violated the law in order to pull me over, simply because I and my passenger wear beards and are older than average. They suspected alcohol influence, although my driving was average with no violation of law. They required a breathalizer test, which I eagerly took to demonstrate their false presumption. The lead jerk was angry when the breathalizer showed 0.0, but he managed to control his anger and tell me to drive on. The event occurred on the outskirts of a large city.
I wonder where the event in subject occurred, and if the driver shared the fearful apprehensions of today´s life ?
It is no longer appropriate to immediately conclude that the driver was a crook, trying to escape apprehension. Nor is it appropriate to immediately conclude that the plainclothes police persons behaved appropriately for the situation.
