Felon-turned-councilman: Pardon me so I can take office!

A man who says he should be sworn in as a city councilman in Pennsylvania because he’s paid his debt to society for a 1993 felony drug conviction really hasn’t.

Court records show 45-year-old Corey Sanders still owes more than $36,000 in fines and restitution.

The McKeesport councilman-elect is seeking a pardon from Democratic Gov. Tom Wolf to take office. He pleaded no contest to two felony drug counts 23 years ago and was sentenced to four years in prison. The Democrat was prevented from being sworn in Monday.

The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports Sanders said he addressed the fines in his pardon application. His attorney didn’t respond to messages.

A spokesman for the board of pardons chairman says it could take months before the application is officially filed.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Sanders should NEVER be given a political post. It’s time to clean government, not add to the trash.

Unbelievable, Sanders having a political position. After forty years in public service, do you believe he has approval rating of 83% in Vermont?. The highest approval rating for any representative in America. He does not even deserve to be running!

Well, look, this person will get his new job, because, of his race and because of the political correctness crap is in effect and going strong in this country!. So, what’s so new about what’s going on, this is all coming from a lack of concern for the rule of LAW and the respect for the laws of our country.

No way are you people stupid who voted for this crook we have enough crooks in office it is time to throw them all out, if you don’t follow and uphold the Constitution, and the rest of our laws then you are fired, and that includes the surpreme court judges who have not done their jobs, queers, abortion, obamacare, and many other garbage they have passed are not legal.
And anyone with common sense knows this, they all our representatives should be demanding obamas resignation and then start prosecuting him and his minions.
