Federal authorities say have found about $20 million in cash hidden inside a box spring in a Massachusetts apartment as part of the investigation into an internet telecom company that prosecutors say was actually a massive pyramid scheme.
The cash was found in Westborough on Wednesday. Federal authorities charged 28-year-old Cleber Rene Rizerio Rocha with conspiring to commit money laundering in connection with the money. A lawyer for the Brazilian national could not be reached.
The seizure was made in connection with an investigation into TelexFree. Prosecutors say TelexFree had few customers and made most of its revenue from people buying into the company with a promise of payouts for posting online ads for it. They were paid with money from new recruits. Authorities allege almost 1 million people worldwide were swindled out of nearly $1.8 billion.

Only if you are a United States citizen and you reside in the District of Columbia or any U.S. possession or territory of the U.S., then you may be required to pay those “tax dollars”. However if you are a United States of America citizen, then you have never owed one penny to the IRS. The Constitution is the supreme law of the land and you’re protected from direct taxation. The IRC “only” applies to persons engaged in a “trade or business” with the United States. The Tax Code, Title 26 U.S.C., has the proof that the federal income tax is non-existent except for the voluntary payment of the tax by federal persons of 26 U.S.C. subtitle C, chapter 24, section 3402(p), on any “specified federal payment”. If you are a concerned citizen of one of the Union states and you have no occupational association with the United States Federal Government, and you fill out a federal tax form, signed under the penalties of perjury, you actually commit perjury, because you are telling the Government you are a federal person when you are not. But don’t worry, the IRS is crooked and will gladly accept your free gift.
