“On the Holmes Front” with Frank Holmes
Bernie Sanders hates the rich—except when he looks into a mirror. Bernie likes to talk like the 99 percent and live like the One Percent—but an investigative report may have just exposed the greatest hypocrisy of his entire career.
While the Vermont senator identifies as a socialist, and has said the middle class has to sacrifice everything from gasoline-fueled cars to gas ovens “for the good of the environment,” Sanders has indulged himself with a luxurious lifestyle that gives him a carbon footprint the size of Bigfoot.
In the first quarter of 2025, Bernie Sanders spent nearly a quarter of a million dollars on private jet—as part of his “Fighting Oligarchy” tour denouncing the wealthy and privileged!
Newly released records from the Federal Election Committee (FEC) show Sanders’ group, the “Friends of Bernie Sanders,” spent $221,723 on private jets in the first three months of 2025 so the senator could rip on Elon Musk’s greed, according to an analysis from the Washington Free Beacon.
Although Sanders once complimented Soviet travel and subway systems, he spent his small donors’ cash on a near-monopoly of pampered travel. Just three companies—Cirrus Aviation Services, N-Jet, and Ventura Jets—made up 75 percent of all Sanders’ “Fighting Oligarchy” campaign stop travel.
On these events, Sanders and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York tout their left-wing plans to take away your appliances and bash the president’s family for enjoying the wealth they have created…then fly off in a private jet paid for by their donors.
On Tuesday, the same day as the Beacon’s report, Fox News received a photo of Sanders and AOC stepping onto a luxury Bombardier Challenger private jet at the Meadows Field Airport in Bakersfield, California.
“The jet Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez were seen boarding made stops in Salt Lake City and Boise prior to landing in Bakersfield, according to flight records,” reported Fox News.
National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) spokesperson Ben Petersen blasted the pair’s “Do as I say, no as I do” attitude. “Champagne socialists Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez demand Americans surrender their pick-up trucks, air conditioning and meat from the luxe leather seats of their private jets that cost more per hour than most Americans earn in months,” said Petersen.”Their hypocrisy is staggering.”
All this private jet travel doesn’t even count the $63,380 the hate-the-rich tour spent on commercial airline tickets, as well as $41,000 to stay in the best hotels, untold tens of thousands eating at gourmet restaurants, and $248,245 for event production to make the “Fighting Oligarchy” a real show.
Sanders’ taste for the finer things in flight began during his first presidential campaign and has been growing like a billionaire’s trust fund ever since.
Sanders reportedly started flying like the Top One Percent, on his own private jet, during his 2016 campaign—and the pace has been picking up over the years.
After the DNC rigged the primaries, Sanders endorsed Hillary Clinton—and began campaigning nationwide on her behalf…insisting the campaign fly him in a private jet.
A Clinton campaign staffer said all the young, idealistic liberals on the Clinton campaign had the same thought when they agreed to pay for the far-Left congressman’s travel in the 2016 general election: “Our working assumption was that 90 percent of the time it would be commercial”—but the campaign shot it down every single time.
“We would try to fight it as much as possible because of cost and availability of planes, but they would request (a jet) every time,” a source on the 2016 Clinton campaign, who knew how much it cost to fly the Vermont senator nationwide to bash Donald Trump, told the formerly USAID-funded website Politico. “We would always try to push for commercial…At the campaign, you’re constantly trying to save like 25 cents.”
I guess she didn’t know socialists have no problem spending other people’s money.
“The senator ended up flying private on three separate multi-day trips in the last two months of the campaign…usually on a Gulfstream plane,” according to Politico.
Sanders must have liked the taste of living like a DNC functionary. Over the following two years—2017 and 2018—Sanders spent a combined total of $342,000 to ride the skies in luxury.
By the time Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez made her big splash on the national stage in 2019 texting “billionaires with helipads…shouldn’t exist,” Bernie had completely embraced creature comforts.
Somewhere between “teachers shouldn’t have to sell their own blood to make rent” & “billionaires with helipads and full-time workers on food stamps shouldn’t exist in the same society” https://t.co/utYrwSObNN

Sanders’ partner in crime, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, is quickly turning into a chip off the old cockpit.
While AOC has not yet graduated to her own Gulfstream, she has flown with Bernie. And eyewitnesses spied AOC flying first class from John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City to rail against the rich at a “Fighting Oligarchy” rally in Las Vegas earlier this month.
Comparable first-class tickets on a JetBlue airliner making the same trip usually cost around $1,100 a pop.
Once she sat down, AOC did not respond to people trying to talk to her, they said.
“Nothing says, ‘Power to the people’ like ignoring voters looking to say hello and reclining in first class while tweeting about income inequality,'” the passenger who took a picture of AOC, “Tracey from Brooklyn,” told the New York Post.
.@AOC flew first-class to fight the oligarchy with Bernie Sanders.
This flies in the face of everything progressives stand for.
The carbon footprint of such an extravagant seat is an abomination to environmentalists.
AOC is just another hypocritical politician. Nothing more. pic.twitter.com/pQxtU4plj8

But the Bronx socialist may be modeling herself after two candidates who actually won their party’s presidential nomination. Signs are AOC is already following in the footsteps of the last two female presidential candidates, Kamala Harris and Hillary Clinton, in the strangest of ways: AOC used a “Fighting Oligarchy” speech to try out a strange new accent.
🚨AOC is pretending to have some sort of strange accent.
This is exactly what Kamala Harris did on the campaign trail.
Why do they do this? pic.twitter.com/lXpOClW1rh

One thing we know from Sanders—a millionaire who fans the flames of class warfare while owning multiple luxurious homes and flying on a private jet—and AOC…who flies first class when she’s not driving her ultra-expensive Tesla: Democrats may try on new accents, but they never speak the language of truth.
