Democrats and computers don’t seem to go very well together.
You’d think a party that falsely blames a major election defeat on an email hack would be more careful with their equipment.
Instead, a new scandal is unfolding — and it could be the biggest hacking bombshell to ever hit Washington, D.C!

This one involves alleged missing equipment, including computers and servers… questionable access to highly sensitive IT networks… and even moving Congressional data over to remote “cloud” servers that could be accessed from anywhere rather than remaining on secure government servers, according to Fox News.
Rumors say the men involved may even have acted in the interest of foreign governments — perhaps by spying on our Congress!
“That violates House rules and it puts the House at risk,” a source familiar with the investigation told the network.
UPI said at least part of the scheme involved an “unusual bookkeeping practice” that allowed the workers to “pocket cash” from their work.
That would seem to be an especially brazen move when you consider that three of the staffers in the investigation – brothers Abid, Imran and Jamal Awan – collected nearly half a million in salary combined, according to The Daily Caller.
Investigators will no doubt probe where, exactly, all that money was going.
The extent of the scandal is not yet clear, but it seems the workers had been shared by more than two dozen Democratic lawmakers, including some who sit on sensitive committees that handle some of the nation’s biggest secrets: the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and the House Committee on Foreign Affairs.
One of the workers under investigation was even employed by a lawmaker who has a LOT of experience on these issues in all the wrong ways.
It’s Debbie Wasserman Schultz – the Florida congresswoman who was forced to resign in disgrace from a side position as chair of the Democratic Party last summer.
At the time, leaked emails revealed the ugly truth that she and other party bosses were trying to sabotage Bernie Sanders and push Hillary Clinton on a party faithful that clearly wanted nothing to do with her (and, as we’d find out later, for good reason).
Seems she hasn’t learned her lesson, and amazingly – when informed of the investigation – her first step wasn’t to protect sensitive American data.

It was to protect her employee!
“At this time we are continuing to gather information from House officials, and will determine the best approach to move forward once we have received a thorough review,” a spokesperson told the Miami Herald. “We are consulting House counsel to ensure that due process is afforded to her employees before any action is taken.”
In fact, even after the investigation was revealed and the workers’ computer access was cut off by House security, some of them CONTINUED to work for certain Democratic lawmakers.

It’s still not clear if this is the usual Washington mix of theft and incompetence, or if there’s something much darker afoot.
But one thing is clear: Giving a computer to a Democrat these days is riskier than giving an iPhone to a teenager.
