It’s a nightmare scenario technology experts are warning Americans to be prepared for — On November 8th, millions of Americans will be eager to cast their votes in the presidential election… but may not be able to.
Tech experts warn that if you rely on the internet to tell you where to vote could be left scrambling — and will be left uncounted.
There is a high possibility of a national cyberattack on Election Day, experts warn, and the subsequent blackout would deprive increasingly internet-dependent Americans the ability to look up their voter information online.
Their advice is simple. Voters should write down their information — including their polling locations — ahead of time.
Adam D’Angelo, CEO of Quora and former Chief Technology Officer of Facebook, tweeted Sunday:
Good chance of major internet attack Nov 8th. Many groups have the ability and incentive. Maps outage alone could easily skew the election.

D’Angelo isn’t the only technology expert concerned about the attack.
David Byttow, former Google employee and CEO of mobile application Secret, tweeted in response, “I think chances of more than one party ‘trying’ to cause damage/confusion/outages that day are quite high.”
To prevent being left out, voters must check their voting location ahead of Election Day, tech experts warn. They advise voters head to this website and write down their voting location as insurance against an internet breach.
And if voters are unsure of how to get to their location, they’re advised to look up directions ahead of time so they aren’t relying on an online GPS service.
The concern over an attack is far from trivial.
Fears of a cyberattack increased after a large part of the internet was shut down on October 21st. Hackers distributed a massive denial of service (DDoS) attack on major host server Dyn, which is responsible for a large amount of domain name systems (DNS). Major Websites like The New York Times, Facebook, Reddit, and others were left unresponsive.
But this wasn’t the first instance of a major hack.
Just weeks before, a cyberattack exposed the personal data of Florida voters. In August, hackers obtained personal information from voter registration systems in Illinois and Arizona, prompting the FBI to warn election officials of possible state election hacks.
“Among people who work in the internet industry, there’s a general awareness that there’s lots of ways that these groups could do DDoS attacks on Election Day. I think, basically, everyone knows that these groups are able to shut down different services at different times,” D’Angelo told The Daily Beast.
“The Attack on Dyn felt to me like a warm-up to something or a practice run. Like someone going after something very specific,” Sam Altman, president of the startup TCombinator, told Mashable.
While all of the concern surrounding an Election Day hack is purely speculative, it can’t hurt to be prepared. There isn’t much the average American citizen can do to prevent an internet shutdown, but they can protect their vote by being informed.
To ensure you make it to your polling place to cast your ballot Tuesday, write down your information the old fashioned way.

Check your voting machines – on the back there will be a brand name. It may say SMARTMATIC or it may say SEQUOIA. These machines are manufactured by companies which George Soros has some ownership in or has direct ties with by association with these companies. It would be preferable to use a paper ballot. It is your right to do so.
There is a very real possibility these machines internally are rigged and if you are voting Republican, your vote will be changed by the internal technology of the machines. A word to the wise is sufficient.
Ask for a paper ballot if that is the case.
A paper ballot is usually counted by.an electronic counting machine. Elections can be fixed in many different ways.
In my county we are being told “no paper ballots,” regardless of any right to a paper ballot.

Double check your vote before locking it in. Immediately report any discrepancies that you see. Every vote counts. Make sure yours counts for the person of your choice.

I always vote absentee. There is no more privacy when it comes to voting, except by absentee ballot. The voting places have those open partitions where the poll workers can watch you vote. After you vote you place your ballot into a machine as if you are going to shred a piece of paper. Whoever came up with that way of voting is a dumb,stupid,idiot,lunkhead, moron that got their high school diploma, college degree as a prize from a bag of CrackerJacks.

Ken where I live at in the damned SH@THOLE LOSER CITY TUCSON, MEXIZONA metro area I have not seen the absentee ballot that said Trump at all. In Pima Coutny, the ballots have kept the Reublican & Libertarian candidate for the Hous of Represenatives off of the ballot on purpose. It only listed the incumbent Raul Grihalva and I wrote in Paul Vabeu the Republican candidate for Congress. In neighboring Pinal County Paul Babeu Republican and Tom O’Halloran Libertatian were on their ballots. I’m putting my home and all of the furniture up for sale in February, once that is sold I’m leaving Mexizona for good. I ended up there because of the military base closures that former Figurhead Communist draft dodger Sleazeball Bill Clinton did to California, New Jersey the nations 2 most hated states as his thanks to them and the other states that lost jobs & bases in Clinton s military based losers & cutbacks, plus Bill Clinton invented the government shutdown.

Years ago I saw a Communist Party brochure that had 21 goals needed to take over the U.S.
One of them was to infiltrate public schools and indoctrinate American children (check); another was to infiltrate one of the major parties. There area 76 members of the Communist Party of the USA (CPUSA) – guess which political party every single one of them belongs to? DEMOCRAT.

Of course, the Democrat National Committee and the Clinton campaign are likely to be actively involved in any election day hijinks. The Democrats and Clinton campaign are going to be working over time to make sure Hillary rotten Clinton is elected regardless of how sleazy they have to get.
Personally, I’m not comfortable with being rushed into having to make a choice for POTUS, between unpopular candidates who are constantly making untrue or unsubstantiated accusations, hurling insults and resorting to innuendo to try to manipulate my emotions. Why can’t the establishment produce candidates that people have faith in? Furthermore, if any of the candidates are currently under investigation or have other legal issues, then the matters under investigation should be firmly resolved before the American people are asked to cast their vote. What is the rush? We need to take a moment to think about what it is we are advocating. Our government is failing everyone on so many levels. Take Clivden Bundy (representing the white perspective) for instance. I don’t know whether he broke the law or not, but obviously he felt that his government was a threat to his civil rights. And he protested! The Black Lives Matter movement,(representing the black perspective), feels that the government (especially via law enforcement), has been a threat on its civil rights. They have protested! The Native Americans of the Standing Rock Sioux Nation, are in the midst of a fight, with our government, for their land, their lives and clean water. They also believe their rights are being violated. These peaceful indigenous people are also protesting! White, Blacks, and Native Americans are actively protesting something about this system!! What’s wrong with this picture?? And now you want me to vote although you believe that the voting process is compromised? Are you telling me the voting process is possibly rigged, so make sure you’re careful?? How?? What can I possibly do to make sure my vote gets counted? If we don’t have confidence that our votes will not be tampered with, then it really doesn’t matter who we vote for, does it? The cheaters will win. Our irresponsible policies are rapidly making us well on our way to becoming a danger not only to ourselves, but to the rest of the world as well. Presidential power and privilege aren’t going anywhere. But if we get this election wrong, the public could be facing still more years of war-making policies, which will no doubt be used to further limit or revoke our civil rights, Our elections are too important, and it is totally, and I reiterate, totally unfair to ask the population to vote for the next president when so many of the candidates have current questionable legal irregularities, (I love you Jill Stein, but you too, need to resolve your misdemeanor with the State of North Dakota). All of the candidates need to resolve their own ongoing legal issues, and come before the American people with a clean slate. This President will effect, and impact the lives of hundreds of millions of people for many years to come. And we would do well if we liked, believed in and trusted our candidates. And if we don’t like, trust and believe in our candidates, then we should postpone this election until we find some that we do! I’m just sayin’!! Anything in the constitution about that?
