President Donald Trump is still fighting to win the 2020 presidential election, contesting Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden in court and in social media.
Trump’s refusal to concede has upset members of the mainstream media and Democratic Party leaders.
However, critics point out that Trump’s continuing fight for the 2020 election isn’t unprecedented.
No, it’s not the failed 2016 recount effort that raised millions for Green Party candidate Jill Stein (which didn’t work).
In fact, his campaign is simply following the advice of his former rival, ex-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
Trump is following Hillary’s advice she gave Biden’s campaign in August — never, ever concede.
“So, we have to have a massive legal operation, I know the Biden campaign is working on that,” Hillary said in an interview. “We have to have poll workers. I urge people, who are able, to be a poll worker.”
“We have to have our own teams of people to counter the force of intimidation that the Republicans and Trump are going to put outside polling places.”
“Yeah, this is a big organizational challenge. But at least we know more about what they’re going to do,”she said in an interview with her former communications director Jennifer Palmieri.
“Joe Biden should not concede under any circumstances, because I think this is going to drag out,” she said.
Palmieri threw her arms in the air in agreement.
“And eventually I do believe he will win — if we don’t give an inch!” Hillary said.
She later claimed the Republicans and Trump’s campaign were working to rig the election.
“I think that [Trump’s campaign has] a couple of scenarios that they are looking toward. One is messing up absentee balloting,” Hillary claimed, without evidence. “They believe that helps them so that they then get maybe a narrow advantage in the Electoral College on Election Day.”
“So we’ve got to have a massive legal operation, and I know the Biden campaign is working on that.”
