President Donald Trump was furious and threatened to sue Grammy Awards host Trevor Noah early Monday morning after the comedian joked that Trump needed a new island to replace Jeffrey Epstein’s to hang out on.
Trump posted his response on Truth Social at 1:01 AM EST, calling the Grammys “virtually unwatchable” and demanding Noah get his facts straight.
Trump has never visited Epstein’s island, and was estranged from the disgraced pedophile for years.
“The Grammy Awards are the WORST, virtually unwatchable! CBS is lucky not to have this garbage litter their airwaves any longer,” Trump wrote. “The host, Trevor Noah, whoever he may be, is almost as bad as Jimmy Kimmel at the Low Ratings Academy Awards. Noah said, INCORRECTLY about me, that Donald Trump and Bill Clinton spent time on Epstein Island. WRONG!!! I can’t speak for Bill, but I have never been to Epstein Island, nor anywhere close, and until tonight’s false and defamatory statement, have never been accused of being there, not even by the Fake News Media.”

The former Daily Show host made the Epstein joke after Billie Eilish won Song of the Year Sunday night.
“That’s a Grammy that every artist wants — almost as much as Trump wants Greenland,” Noah said. “Which makes sense because, since Epstein’s gone, he needs a new island to hang out with Bill Clinton. I told you, it’s my last year! What are you going to do about it?”

Trump’s lawsuit threats typically aren’t empty. The president has a proven track record of winning huge defamation cases against powerful media outlets.
ABC News and George Stephanopoulos settled a defamation lawsuit in December 2024 after the “This Week” host falsely accused Trump of rape. The network paid $15 million in damages and issued an apology.
Trump won a $16 million settlement from CBS over their deceptive editing of a Kamala Harris interview during the 2024 presidential election.
He has also filed a $10 billion lawsuit against the BBC for manipulating his remarks about January 6th.
Sunday’s Grammys marked Noah’s sixth and final time hosting the awards show. The ceremony will move from CBS to ABC and Disney+ starting in 2027 under a 10-year deal announced in 2024.
The Justice Department released millions of pages of Epstein files on January 30 after Trump signed a law ordering release. Although he’s mentioned many times in the files, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said they contain no evidence Trump visited Epstein’s island or proof had inappropriate contact with any victims.
