“On the Holmes Front” with Frank Holmes
One presidential candidate just took the first step in the Democrats’ long-range plan to replace the Constitution with socialism.
Before they can rip up the Constitution, and the Republic for which it stands, first they have to convince people to hate their own country.
But how can they smear a document that guarantees freedom of religion, the right to keep and bear arms, and freedom from the government prying into your private business?
Senator Cory Booker, a 2020 presidential hopeful, told a national audience that the Founding Fathers were racists who sewed their prejudices into the fabric of the United States.
“The founders were imperfect geniuses. They wrote a lot of our bigotries into [the Constitution],” he said on NPR.
Booker’s race to the bottom of the presidential polls may have had something to do with his hard line. A new CNN poll has Booker tied with Amy Klobuchar at 3% — a whole 25 points behind frontrunner Joe Biden.
But Booker is convinced. In fact, he said the exact same thing last September, almost word-for-word.
“We know our Founders and their values and their ideals,” Booker told the Senate, “but we also know that they were flawed and you can see that in the documents.”
“Native Americans were referred to as savages, women weren’t referred to at all, African Americans were referred to as fractions of human beings,” he went on.
At one point, he got so mad he started stuttering over his words. “Constitutu! Constitu!” he said. “I can only say three-fifths of the word.”
Booker showed his disrespect for our founding “documents”: the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. Evidently, he thinks America was one huge mistake that needs to be erased, along with those “bigoted” writings.
As a matter of fact, Booker told South Carolina voters last month that was exactly what he plans to do if he gets elected president.
Using Obama-like language, Booker told his party’s left-wing base, “This is where we are going to redefine and reclaim the spirit of America.”
People who love their country don’t usually need to “redefine” it from the Oval Office.
But when it comes to ignoring the Constitution, Booker already has years of experience.
Last month, Booker badgered a Trump judicial nominee over her private religious beliefs.
“Do you think gay relationships are immoral?” Booker repeatedly asked Neomi Rao. “Do you believe they are a sin?”
An outraged Ted Cruz pointed out that “Article VI of the Constitution says there shall be no religious test for any public office.”
Rao won the vote and was confirmed to replace Brett Kavanaugh on the D.C. federal court on Wednesday—but Booker tried to shred the first freedom and blackball her based on her faith.
At other times, Booker has invented constitutional “rights” for himself that trump the First Amendment.
Booker once told a reporter that asking him a question about his “Spartacus moment” violated the Constitution.
“I asked @CoryBooker if his remarks in committee were a stunt,” Byron Tau of the Wall Street Journal tweeted. “He told me I violating the constitution by being in his way.”

He’s no better on the Second Amendment. As a mayor, he lobbied D.C. to respect local gun regulations…because New Jersey has some of the toughest laws on the books.
But as a senator, he’s pushed tough gun restrictions on law-abiding Americans and said anyone who voted against his bill is “complicit” in the Parkland High School shooting!
Now the New Jersey Democrat is under pressure from the far-Left to promise, as president, he will give black Americans reparations for slavery—so bashing the Founders may be the first step.
Or it may be a way for him to signal that he will sign the Green New Deal, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s blueprint for socialism,
When other Democrats started shying away from AOC’s plan to end “cows farting,” Booker doubled down.
He said it’s “a lie” that the plan—which would cost $93 trillion, or $600,000 for every American household—is too expensive.
Some reporters have even speculated that Booker would like to use his power and position as a way to push Americans to adopt his vegan diet.
What’s not up for grabs is this: The way the Green New Deal would let the federal government regulate every single building in the United States, from sea to shining sea, violates everything the Founding Fathers, and the documents they wrote, stood for.
The Constitution blocks the government from spying on you, disarming you, taxing you until you’re bankrupt, or forcing you to live the way self-appointed health czars dictate.
New Jersey is a stone’s throw from Philadelphia, where the Constitution was written. But its senator is a million miles away from the spirit of ’76 and the yellow parchment whose message made America great.
