Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., is starting his 2020 presidential campaign with a message for Americans: If you’re a meat eater, your days are numbered.
The New Jersey Democrat thinks that if someone enjoys an all-American burger, they’re contributing to unsustainable climate change — and he’s reaching out to vegetarians across the country.
Booker isn’t just a vegetarian. He’s a more extreme version: A vegan, which means he refuses to eat eggs, milk, fish, or anything non-plant based.
“I remember my last non-vegan meal was Election Day, November 2014,” Booker told VegNews in a recent interview. He told the vegetarian magazine that he couldn’t imagine eating a slice of bacon ever again.
“Oh my gosh,” Booker said when asked if he’d ever go back to normal. “I will never go back to eating meat.”
He warned that consuming animal products, like kids drinking milk with their dinner, is bad for the environment and something he refused to participate in.
Book says Asian and African countries must not start enjoying American-style diets. If the Chinese develop a taste for McDonald’s hamburgers, Booker says it could end the world.
“The tragic reality is this planet simply can’t sustain billions of people consuming industrially produced animal agriculture because of environmental impact,” Booker warned. “It’s just not possible, as China, as Africa move toward consuming meat the same way America does… because we just don’t have enough land.”
In fact, Booker wants to reshape the entire agricultural industry in America. He promised “to continue supporting bills that are about public health, whether it is pumping in all these antibiotics into animals that are literally threatening the safety of Americans.”
The New Jersey Democrat recently backed the Green New Deal program, a far-left initiative that would cost an estimated $100 trillion and aims to ban everything from gas-powered automobiles, to plane rides, to cow farts.
Yes, you read that correctly.
Hardcore vegetarian Cory Booker doesn’t want the Chinese to eat American hamburgers. He also wants to remake the American diet. And he is backing legislation that wants to stop cows from farting.
He also wants your vote in the 2020 election.
Turns out cows aren’t the only thing full of hot gas.
