For decades, Sean Hannity’s conservative political brand has been untouchable. But since the 2020 election, Fox News has lost favor among supporters of President Donald Trump — and Hannity is “desperate” to hold onto viewers.
The cable news giant has seen viewers leave in droves for alternative news sources. Trump himself has endorsed Fox News’ rivals and called the network “unwatchable.” There have even been rumors that Fox News is considering blacklisting anyone that appears on a rival network like Newsmax.

On Monday, Hannity tried to assure viewers and “clear things up.” He claimed he refuses to “take orders” from anyone at the top of Fox News.
In conservative media, the segment caused an immediate backlash. Conservative commentator Wayne Dupree called the segment a “desperate” attempt by Hannity to save his ratings.
“It’s too bad that some good people are being caught up in this mess, but sadly, that’s the way it has to be,” Dupree said. “Sean works for the enemy.”
“And personally, I find it very hard to believe that Hannity doesn’t answer to anyone at Fox,” he added. “Everyone answers to somebody.”
Dupree called Fox News worse than CNN and an “enemy of the people” and called on viewers to boycott Hannity until the conservative news star changes networks.
“We’d love to see Hannity join Newsmax, but until then, most Trump supporters are saying ‘absolutely not’ to watching any bit of Fox News,” Dupree said.
