The Democratic Party, which has made saving American “democracy” from President Trump one of its top themes for eight years, just pulled off a move so hypocritical it should have the blue party turning red with embarrassment.
The party of democracy is canceling its own election—again.
Less than a year ago, the DNC overturned the results of its own primaries, replacing President Joe Biden with Kamala Harris, who did not earn one vote.
In its commitment to progress, this year, it’s overturning not one but two elections.
The Democratic National Committee elected three people to the very top tiers of its party—vice chairmen. Now, it’s trying to depose two of them.
The most prominent is David Hogg, who first exploded into national consciousness after the 2018 school shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. He immediately began demanding gun control and stayed in the spotlight ever since.
The Democrats’ leftists gushed over the election of Hogg, who is now 24, seeing him as a way the party can communicate with young voters, who abandoned the party in unexpectedly high numbers to vote for Donald Trump last fall.
“David Hogg’s journey is truly remarkable — from Parkland survivor to national gun violence prevention advocate to now, the first member of Gen Z to serve as Vice Chair of the DNC,” said Nikki Fried, chair of Hogg’s home state Florida Democratic Party. “David’s unique life experiences and skills will transform the way Democrats engage with young voters and elevate how we run campaigns.
But Hogg didn’t realize he was meant to shut up and turn out the vote; he wanted to change the party.
Hogg promised to spend $20 million to replace left-wing extremist Democrats in safe blue districts with even more radical, left-wing extremists.
Threatening to primary Democrats, who had paid many of the DNC officials big money for campaign advice, was the last straw, and the DNC’s brass opened fire on him.
James Carville called him “a contemptible little twerp.”
DNC Chairman Ken Martin was so upset, he balled out Hogg on Fox News.
“If you want to challenge incumbents, you’re more than free to do that, but just not as an officer of the DNC,” said Martin last month. “We can’t be both, the referee and also the player at the same time.”
(In reality, the DNC rigged at least the last three primaries to nominate Kamala Harris without a single vote, Joe Biden over Bernie Sanders in 2020, and Hillary Clinton over Bernie in 2016.)
Pretty soon, they started looking for a way to pen in Hogg.
DNC Chairman Ken Martin went on Fox News and issued a harsh rebuke of David Hogg after it was announced that his PAC would be participating in the primary challenge of "ineffective Democrats."

The DNC announced it was going to declare its own election for Hogg and another vice chair null and void, because they violated party rules of “gender parity”: They didn’t election enough minorities, especially black people and women (or people who identified as women).
“They’ve apparently decided months later that David Hogg’s election as DNC vice chair was illegitimate because he’s white,” said one online commentator. “The party of ‘equality’ and ‘democracy’ continues to prove it cares about neither.”
One of the candidates who lost the race, Kalyn Free, claimed the fact that Hogg beat her left her “disenfranchised”…which is quite a stretch, to say the least. But the DNC went ahead.
Democratic leaders might have had more defensible grounds for removing Hogg had they deposed the vice chair for using the DNC’s contact list for his personal enrichment.
Hogg sent Democratic donors in the party’s list text messages soliciting donations to his own “Leaders We Deserve” PAC, which pays him a reported $100,000 a year.
One senior Democratic Party leader called his action “a stunning lack of judgment”…but they left it at that—perhaps worried people might investigate which other Democrats had profited off the party.
Once Hogg heard about the Democratic Party’s plan to depose him based on Woke principles of equity and representation,
Hogg called out the DNC for its racist identity politics and puritanical leftism on HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher.
Democrats lost the 2024 presidential election, he said, because Americans “would rather vote for somebody who they don’t completely agree with (but) they don’t feel judged by, than somebody who they do agree with, that they feel like they have to walk on eggshells around constantly, because they’re going to be judged or ostracized or excommunicated.”
The idea that most Americans agreed with Kamala Harris—who wanted to keep the borders open, schools closed, and transgender hormones flowing into kids’ veins—is a lark. But Hogg was wallowing in his host’s appreciation.
“Young people,” he said, “should be able to focus on what young people should be focused on, which is how to get laid and how to go and have fun!”
Maher, a libertine-leaning libertarian, shouted “David Hogg for president, ladies and gentlemen!” before rising to shake the young man’s hand.
