Americans are just two weeks away from a living, breathing nightmare: President-elect Joe Biden and his puppeteer Kamala Harris will preside over a Congress led by Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.
Our country is already in trouble, and it’s about to get much, much worse.
With hundreds of thousands of Americans losing their jobs every week, the coronavirus spiking, and Americans returning to rioting in the streets, what is the Democrats’ top priority today?
Punishing Donald Trump and his supporters.
They’re not even waiting until Biden and Harris take office. They’re trying to remove President Trump from office now.
“I am drawing up Articles of Impeachment,” wrote Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., on Wednesday.
Omar, a Somali Muslim socialist and one of the most outspoken anti-American leftists in Washington, tweeted that “we can’t allow him to remain in office,” because “it’s a matter of preserving our Republic and we need to fulfill our oath.”
I am drawing up Articles of Impeachment.
Donald J. Trump should be impeached by the House of Representatives & removed from office by the United States Senate.
We can’t allow him to remain in office, it’s a matter of preserving our Republic and we need to fulfill our oath.

She’s joined by fellow Squad member Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who supported impeachment for at least the third time this year over the Capitol riots, which President Trump tried to discourage. Rep. Rashida Tlaib also tweeted “#ImpeachmentInquiryNow.”
It’s not just the party’s extremist, Democratic Socialist base that is trying to forcibly remove Donald Trump from office, even though he has only 11 days left before inauguration: The whole party leadership is on board. Sen. Chuck Schumer has called for the vice president to immediately invoke the 25th Amendment as “the quickest and most effective way” to kick Trump out of the White House.
But there’s a problem: The 25th Amendment was intended to remove people who are physically or mentally incapable of holding office. Donald Trump is still well.
So, Schumer joined the impeachment brigade: “If the vice president and the Cabinet refuse to stand up, Congress should reconvene to impeach the president,” he said.
Pelosi said, unlike last year’s faux impeachment over a phone call with the president of Ukraine, this time she’s completely committed to impeachment.
“I join the Senate Democratic leader on calling on the vice president to remove this president by immediately invoking the 25th Amendment,” Pelosi told reporters at a press conference. “If the vice president and cabinet do not act, the Congress may be prepared to move forward with impeachment.” Pelosi hinted that she wanted to make Trump uniquely “unique” as the first president to “be doubly impeached.”
Even some Republicans have piled on the president as he’s on his way out the door. Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan, a liberal Republican, said “there’s no question that America would be better off if the president would resign or be removed from office.” Rep. Adam Kinzinger, R-Ill., joined the 100-plus Democrats calling for Trump to be removed via the 25th Amendment.
And David French, the Never Trump writer who considered running against Trump as a third party candidate in 2016, wrote, “We Must Impeach Trump Again” in TIME magazine. French even criticized Trump for recording a video telling the violent mob to “go home in peace … We love you!”
“Yes, Donald Trump loves his violent mob,” French complained.
Why are they so obsessed with impeaching Donald Trump with less than two weeks to go in his first term?
They’re obsessed with destroying Trump and this second strike doesn’t surprise Rush Limbaugh, who predicted a second impeachment in April. “It looks like Nancy Pelosi’s setting the stage for impeaching Trump again over his reaction to coronavirus,” said radio host Rush Limbaugh.
“They’re gonna do it. They’re gonna try to impeach him again.”
Rush revisited the latest impeachment push on his radio program this Thursday.
“They want it in the official history of the United States that Donald John Trump was impeached and removed from office,” Limbaugh told his tens of millions of listeners. “Now what does that tell you?”
“They’re deathly afraid he’s gonna come back!” Rush said. “There ain’t gonna be Trump again. Their ain’t gonna be Trump 2024.”
“Even now, when he’s just 13 days away from being removed from office constitutionally, the Senate could subsequently vote to disqualify Trump from ever holding federal office again.”
The Democrats’ impeachment push reveals their deepest political goals—even before they take over Congress and the White House for the first time in a decade: They plan to spend the next four or eight years punishing Donald Trump and anyone who supported him, on whatever pretext they can find.
For the next two years, Americans can take back their own state governments, pressure their Republican elected officials to resist Democrats’ attempts at tyranny, and gear up for the 2022 midterm elections.
Hold on to your hats. It’s going to be a long two years. But they may be the time we started to taking back our country and restore our Constitution.
