It appears the unbearable grief of losing her daughter unexpectedly claimed the life of beloved actress Debbie Reynolds.
According to Todd Fisher, the last words his mother spoke just before the stroke that claimed her life were, “I miss her so much, I want to be with Carrie.”
Carrie Fisher, famous for her role as Princess Leia in the Star Wars trilogy, died unexpectedly of cardiac arrest the day before.
Debbie Reynolds embodied the sunshine of postwar America on the screen as she matched steps with Gene Kelly in “Singin’ in the Rain.”
Carrie Fisher brought the sarcasm and cynicism of the Baby Boomers to her movies, books and stage shows, even when she was playing a princess in “Star Wars.”
The mother and daughter, separated by so many differences both personal and generational, are likely drawn closer in the public memory after their deaths on successive days.
Reynolds died on Wednesday at age 84, just as she and the rest of the world were starting to mourn her daughter Fisher, who died on Tuesday at 60, days after suffering cardiac arrest on a plane flight.
Even after a year of shocking and constant celebrity deaths, the one-two punch of Fisher and Reynolds brought a staggering finale to 2016.
Reynolds’ son Todd Fisher said his sister’s death was “just too much” for his mother.
“She said, ‘I want to be with Carrie,'” Fisher said by phone from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where Reynolds had just died after being rushed there earlier in the day. “And then she was gone.”
Both mother and daughter enjoyed the heights of show business success and endured the depths of personal troubles. Their relationship for years ranged from strained to non-existent, a theme frequently explored in Fisher’s writing, but late in life they became allies and close confidantes in their struggles.
Reynolds lost one husband to Elizabeth Taylor and two other husbands plundered her for millions.
Fisher struggled from early in life with addiction and mental illness.
“There have been a few times when I thought I was going to lose Carrie,” Reynolds said when Oprah Winfrey interviewed both mother and daughter in 2011. “I’ve had to walk through a lot of my tears. But she’s worth it.”
As Fisher tried to distance herself from Reynolds, she barely spoke to her mother for nearly a decade.
“It’s very hard when your child doesn’t want to talk to you and you want to talk to them, and you want to touch them, you want to hold them,” Reynolds told Winfrey. “It was a total estrangement.”
Reaction to Reynolds’ death was swift and emotional.
“Debbie Reynolds, a legend and my movie mom. I can’t believe this happened one day after Carrie,” Albert Brooks, who played opposite Reynolds in “Mother,” said on Twitter.
“I can’t imagine what Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds’ family are going through this week. I send all of my love,” Ellen DeGeneres tweeted.
Reynolds took solace and strength in her last years from her renewed closeness with her daughter.
“I would say that Carrie and I have finally found happiness,” Reynolds told Winfrey. “I admire her strength and survival.”

Now they will have eternity together no more estrangement. Now that is Heaven for them both.
Debbie Reynolds has long been one of my favorite movie stars. She was born in SW Texas, El Paso. In 1959, I spent 6+ months at Fort Bliss and attended a small Baptist Church just outside the gate. A lady in this Church invited one or more soldiers to dine at her house each Sunday. This was a lasting experience, where I met a retired minister, who told stories of problems with the old Poncho Villa Gang. Another guest was Debbie Reynold’s Grandmother, a very lively older lady, who walked several blocks to eat this meal, with the hostess. Her relations to Debbie Reynods was mentioned. But, she did not dwell on the subject. She had an interesting life of her own and contributed to the conversation. Meting this nice lady confirmed for me that Debbie came form a strong family, much like those pioneers, who settled the West.
James Kirksey
I don’t know who you’re talking about but it’s not Debbie Reynolds. She was born in 1932. She was 84 years old. Are you speaking of Carrie Fisher? She was born in 1960.
James did not say Debbie was born in 1959. He said he was there in 1959 and that is when he heard the stories he speaks of. You missed a period. 🙂
Bill, you are correct. Sometimes the period is not easily seen.
Ted, unless that lost period results in a baby!
You need to read it again Bill. James’s post says “She was born in SW Texas, El Paso. In 1959”.
James did not say that Debbie was born in 1959. If you read his comment and look at the punctuation, you will see that he was saying he was stationed at Ft. Bliss in 1959. Pleas re read his comment.
He had Dinner with Debbie Reynolds Grandmother in 1959. Learn how to read English ..
Be kind people.
The Christmas spirit is so short-lived these days.
There’s a period at the end of the sentence “she was born in SW Texas, El Paso.” The the writer then begins the next sentence with “In 1959, I spent 6+ months at Ft Bliss etc etc etc”…
And for the record, Carrie Fisher, was 60 years old, not born in 1960…
Give the old soldier a break ????
That was supposed to be a smiley face, not a bunch of question marks 🙂
If James Kirksey had made a new paragraph starting with “In 1959. . . “; there wouldn’t be any confusion, I’m sure.
Relax, no period no big deal! Look at the big picture, TRUMP is going to the white house!!!!!
The U. S. A. will overcome adversity and be Made Great Again!!!!!!!!
you are so bad!!! you like trump he is the worst!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He said that he was STATIONED in FT BLISS Texas around El Paso in 1959, NOT that he met them either one of them in 1959, except Debbie’s grandmother. Debbie was born in 1932 and Carrie was born in 1956 and was 60 years old and Debbie was 84.
Who the heck cares about all the details.. Debbie and Carrie Fisher are gone. They were close at the time of their death. That’s it period. Hope the are now in heaven with the Father!
Carrie Fisher was born in 1956, nerd.
Carrie Fisher was born in 1956.
My husband was friends with a fellow that married Dolores Shafner (or Shaftner) of Santa Rosa, NM who claimed her mother was pregnant with her and her friends mother was pregnant with Debbie Reynolds. The year is right & Texas is right, so where was Debbie born??
He was in El Paseo at a Baptist Church and had a meal at the Pastors house and it was Debbie Reynolds Mother Carrie Fisher’s Grandmother that he had met.
Check the grammar. Look where the full stop and commas are placed.
Funny, there were no comments to Stahu’s thoughts when I replied, now there are several… Guess a few of us were all on the same page at the same time…
NO MARIE FRANCES (DEBBIE) RENOLDS WAS BORN IN 1932 NOT 1959 DOUBT ANYTHING YOU HAVE SAID.
We just got home from seeing the movie “LaLa Land” and were saying it had the potential to be another “Singing in the Rain” level of a movie had the producers not have gone dark and stuck with the singing and dancing by such talents as Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone. And lo and behold my sister contacts me saying that Debbie Reynolds just died from a stroke. She and her son Todd were preparing the funeral for her daughter Carrie Fisher when she suffered the stroke. What heartbreaking news not only for Hollywood but also our nation. For me who grew up with Debbie’s films, and who recently chided the Academy of Motion picture arts and sciences for not giving Debbie a career Oscar, her passing is yet another star in the heavens being extinguished. I am thinking of another star so important at this Christmas time And pray that our Lord will take Debbie and Carrie into his loving embrace.
I would imagine there are those that have been estranged that are in heavy thought today. My parents have been gone 25 and 30 years, I miss them, the pit in my gut becomes at times overwhelming. Eternity in Heaven…
Thank you for jerking us all back to the tragedy of 2 successive deaths. The discussion over punctuation lead directly back to someone completely unrelated to the subject of the article.
Other peoples faith and prayers does not get one to heaven! Only the persons individual personal and public recognition and profession of Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior and His sacrifice for all humanity who receive Him as such gets a repentant sinful human being to heaven!
FRANK Fellow —
Disagree! Prayers FOR a baby who passed or an adult without the mental capacity to function in reality will help them get to heaven. AND, you should key the spiritual stuff to the topic at hand so others can grasp your point.
Amen, brother!
I can fully understand the heartbreak of having a estranged child. I have a daughter She believes something that is not true and puts blame on me. Breaks my heart I have tried so hard to make her understand the truth and she won’t listen. I only hope one day before it’s to late she will come to her senses. But I am 80 and don’t know how much time I have left.
Alice I also have an estranged child. I am just so tired of dealing with her. I have Alzheimer’ s and I just do not want to deal with the drama! She like your daughter she doesn’t want to listen. It is her loss in so many ways. Yet she calls her self a Christian. I have stopped trying . All I can do is pray for her !
Just a moment please. How do you know that they will be spend eternity in heaven?
Talk to the hand
Faith,belief and prayers!!
Amen, Ruth!
Mark your question is valid. We do not have the right to say where one will go after death, only G_D the creator can make that call. He has given us His word what we must do. What we decide to do with His word is our decision. Now all we can do is to say they are in His hands now and that we morn the loss of both of them.
If you have faith, you KNOW they wil spend eternity in Heaven, until that glorious day when Jesus returns and we all walk together with Him on a better earth
Yes!!
I know they both have wings, and will look down at other mothers and with a son or a daughter who walk the same line.
RIP Debbie and Carrie.
I cannot understand why anybody who married Debbie could treat her like her 2nd and 3rd husbands did. She never had a good marriage. Eddie Fisher may have not treated her badly but he gave her the ultimate slap in the face by defecting to Taylor. Seemed to me that Debbie would have been MUCH better and he HAD her! I was born and raised in El Paso and in those days Debbie was pretty much claimed by the people who lived there. Her eyes and lovely face were enough to melt most people. I really will miss her. She was just a little older than me.
I feel like the rest of the world. This is unbelievable but understandable; after all, the lady lost her daughter just the day before. It was too much for her to bear.
Rest in peace both of you fine ladies.
and how tragic for Todd….losing both a mother and a sister within a day. My heart goes out to him!
They can now both rehearse for a play about the absurdity of life on earth.
Best comment yet, Ben Novick.
I always loved Debbie Reynolds and hurt for her when Eddie Fisher did her wrong. My children grew up with her daughter on Star Wars. may they rest in peace.

May the Force be with you Carrie and Debbie. As a clinical psychologist I have frequently witnessed the death of a loved one impact another family member in this way. In fact, this is not uncommon between older husbands and wives who have been together most of their lives. As we all get older our reserves to cope with such losses decline and to lose a child is the ultimate tragedy for a parent. It is such a sadness for those left behind. Our family’s condolences go to Todd Fisher and his family.
Ahmein????????✝????❤
Not meant to have ( ? ) they were pictures. ( sorry ???? )
When our son was killed it nearly killed both his mother and myself. Literally had to labor to draw our next breath for months.
That is a gamble we all take when we have kids. Please hang in there.
I feel for you I have a dead family member two:(
I don’t mean to sound harsh or morbid but all I could think about was that Carrie Fischer had been married to Paul Simon and when Debbie Reynolds died too I thought of Simon’s “Mother and Child Reunion”.
Very interesting!
That is an awesome thought, Mike; I don’t find it morbid or harsh at all. Seems fitting, somehow!
I don’t see how that either harsh or morbid, just freely associating in a pretty logical way.
Just goes to show you can die of a broken heart.
So very True. I was so sorry to hear about Carrie and at the same time couldn’t help but realize how lucky I am. They said she stopped breathing for 10 min. and there was a doctor and a nurse on board the plane. In August 2012, I had a massive heart attack, died twice, and I was unconcious for 15 min. I do not remember any of this. But I am grateful that God spared my life.
Rest in peace Carrie and Debbie.
Debbie Reynolds had a lot of class, unlike the current pack of self absorbed Hollywood rabble clamoring to delegitimize Trump’s presidency. Charlie Sheen even said “I hope God takes Trump next.” The latest in a string of classless acts by this drug-crazed has-been who got where he is because of his father, another Hollywood libtard.
Rest in peace, Debbie. You will be missed.
Charlie Sheen has better be careful as we never know how karma will turn it’s ugly face on those who wish others bad tidings.
It is a well known fact that profound grief can break your heart & kill you. Loved both Debbie & Carrie. A terrible loss. May they both now rest in peace. I feel so sad for Todd. May he find the strength to cope with this, & carry on. His poor heart must be broken as well. And how he must feel that his Mother wanted so badly to be with his sister & in the process left him. I still can’t come to grips with it myself. Sooo sad.
DID SHE FAVOR CARRIE OVER TODD? I WONDER WHAT HE’S FEELING. SO VERY SAD
It is not that she loved one over the other, it is that no mother wants to have a child die before than and especially one that you have worked so hard at getting a strong relationship. It is heart breaking
you are so right.. I was about to write the same thing you did.. I cannot imagine losing either one of my two children.. love both of them equally ….. as most parents will do .. its just devastating this happened .. so very sad for Todd and family..
Don’t forget Carrie also had a daughter I believe.
She was 84 years old, lost a child, her heart just couldn’t take it, I’m sure she loves Todd just as much…
My goodness people, relax, say a prayer for both of them, for all of them, for yourselves and for the world…
Pax et bonum
My thoughts. Parents always worry about the dysfunctional child, at the expense of those that are healthy. Hope the best for him. He’s lost his family. One day changes every thing.
Name one person on earth that isn’t dysfunctional. Many simply don’t acknowledge it.
No, they were estranged for ten years. For a mother it is 10 eternities. For me it has been estrangement for 19 years. She cherished the reconciliation.
What an awful thing to say. A mother always loves their children equally, but the weakest is where her heart is most protective. Carrie has alot of problems and caused her mother alot of worry. She loved her. Her son is strong. He will live on.
No, have a heart barbara
So sad.How ironic-just saw the latest Star Wars movie the day Carrie passed. The last scene was so poignant .Debbie was truly a star and was instrumental in protecting Hollywood memorabilia .Mother and daughter together forever ! i immediately looked to see if Rip Taylor was still alive and happy to see he is at 82.They were great friends. I lived in Vegas for 33 years and saw them both. Great memories.!
I have always loved Debbie Reynolds. Particularly in Singing in the Rain. Now they are all gone. Gene Kelley was my dancing teacher in Pittsburgh when I was a small child and he never changed. I guess they are now dancing in Heaven~!!
Ruth Burgess
I never knew Gene Kelley was a dancing teacher in PIttsburgh. I am from Ohio and was very close to Pittsburgh..was he originally from Pennsylvania then?
I am originally from Pittsburgh, Pa., and I believe that Gene Kelly’s sister had a dance studio, in a town called “Wilkinsburg, that was next to the town I was from…..I think he also danced there(or taught) until he went to California and of course, the Rest is History.
May we all think of just HOW fragile life can be, as we have seen in the last couple of days…so let those you love, know your feelings for them….
I truly hope they are both in heaven, and that they turned to God before they died, that is my prayer. Peace and comfort for Todd, life in the spotlight is very difficult, and I pray for Carrie’s daughter that through this grief she will also turn to God.
yes, I do hope they turned to God in their last hours. If so they are together if not , real sad
Yes it is sad that mother and daughter died so close together. Read your Bible people, even if they both
believed in God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit they will not be together until they are u-knighted with Christ in the clouds when He returns at Christ’s second coming. Ecclesiastes 9:5,6 I Corinthians 15:51-54,
I Thessalonians 4:13-17, Revelation 20:5,6
Terry, I believe that loved ones can be re-united in ‘spirit’ before the resurrection of the body that you reference, if they have put their faith in Jesus Christ. Jesus told the believing criminal on the cross, in Luke 24:39-43, that “today, you shall be with Me in Paradise”. He was with Him in spirit, not in body. Stephen, who was a martyr for Christ, in Acts 7:54-60, asked Jesus to receive his spirit before his body fell asleep (died). The apostle Paul, in Philippians 1:21-24, also talks about his struggle over whether he would rather remain on the earth in the flesh, or to die in the flesh and be with Christ (in spirit). I hope that Debbie and Carrie are together and pray for Todd and Carrie’s daughter.
Much is spoken about “Singing in the Rain”, however nothing mentioned about her Tammy movies. I named all my dolls Debbie as a child and named our daughter Tammy, as many other parents did in the 60’s. The two most popular names back then were Lisa (after Lisa Presley) and Tammy. The song Tammy was adapted for the movies in which Debbie Reynolds played the character.
I also think it is sad that her Tammy movies have been ignored in the news announcements about Debbie Reynolds’ death.
Could it be that the news media would rather ignore those movies that were so clear about right and wrong?
my heart goes out to TODD who now has to burry both sister and mother. I feel for her family
although I personally never saw star wars I did love singing in the rain with Debbie Reynolds
and gene Kelly may they both rest in peace
My thoughts and prayers are with Todd, and Carrie’s daughter. How sad for them to have to go through this. I am proud to say I grew up watching Debbie Reynolds, and my children grew up watching Carrie.
May the both rest in peace.
Thanks Debbie and Carrie,, The World Loves You Both,, So Long
Having buried 5 of my 6 sons, several grand children (as nfants and adults), more greatvrand children (all under adult years) and 2 great-greatgrands, I understand the horror of loosing a child. My prayers for Todd and any other family is for PEACE and HEALING for their HEARTS a d SOULS.
I am so sorry.
I was in love with Debbie (Tammy) as a star struck teenager. The “cottonwoods” are now whispering that (Tammy) is with the daughter she always loved. Don’t worry about Todd. He is strong and will abide with both of them some day.
Debbie Reynolds was without a doubt one of the classiest ladies in Hollywood. I loved her in everything she performed in. Singing in the Rain was a great movie, but I also liked her in “Tammy”. Tammy was one of her greats, she had so many.
She will be missed by all the post WWII babies.
God Bless Debbie and Carrie both and I pray that when Jesus returns that they both will be in the first resurrection.
Big smile and thank you for the memories and the wonderful moments we will never forget either of mom and daughter God Bless you both Carrie and Debbie love you both forever 🙂
I loved Debbie from the movies Tammy and Unsinkable Molly Brown and followed Fisher’s and Taylor. Maybe 10 years ago we got to see Debbie on stage and afterwards I got to have my picture taken with her and get her autograph, how awesome I thought it was. My sympathies to Todd and Fisher’s daughter.
MAY GOD HEAL THIS FAMILY WITH THE TWO BIG LOSSES. THEY WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED AND ADMIRED FOR THEIR CONTRIBUTION IN FILMS AND ENTERTAINMENT. BOTH ARE AT PEACE AND ARE WITH GOD. THANK YOU DEBBIE AND CARRIE. A TEXAN FROM QUITMAN.
I ditto all of the above comments! Debbie and Carrie are in the presence of Jesus!!
Much better place, no more emotional or physical pain.. May God be with them!
I, at 75 can really empathyize with all of their family members..
Goodbye!
So sad this successful mother and daughter were estranged so long. Glad they finally worked it out. I have had the same anguish with a son and other family because of outsiders interferring with evil intentions. Debbie adored her daughter. The woman really had a hard life, especially being in the critical public eye. Both very talented and lovely. I hope they are together in heavenly bliss forever now. Must be hard on the son.
Goodbye have a safe journey.
As a father who lost his only daughter, that’s a loss & pain that stays with you a very long time. Debbie Reynolds it was heartbreak that took her. I also lost my wife of 31 years in 2010. A loss of a spouse that you love so much is also very devastating as well. How the West was won I would say is my favorite Debbie Reynolds movie. My late mother was a very big Debbie Reynolds fan, she was also born in 1932, but passed away a month after turning 65 of diabetes.
I grew up with the Debbie Reynolds movies and saw her perform many times on stage she was always wonderful
I also got the opportunity to meet Carrie years ago when she was a speaker in Ontario Ca at a conference I was part of
I pray for their families as burying two family members is reall a tough thing to do
Thank heaven Todd has Carries daughter as still part of his family
It’s important everyday to tell those you care about you love them as we never know if it is our or there last day
A true icon of movie industry always liked her especially one of her greatest movies Singing in the Rain long may your name and performances be shown a brilliant film and a lovely woman. James Mulholland
It is a very sad situation. I pray that they will have peace and everlasting happiness in heaven.
Johns Hopkins did a study on “Broken Heart Syndrome” a few years back, where death may, indeed, be are triggered by a “broken heart.” Learning point: If you have a mom or dad who are aged and frail, and who you love; then try to cushion them from severe emotional stress and turmoil as much as possible. OTOH, if you have a mom or dad you hate, then try to get them involved in as much emotional stress and turmoils as possible.
Tres harsh.
WHAT KIND OF ADVICE IS THAT?
All the fame in the world and nice life will not be enough when you stand before the lord Jesus. So, the bible declare that whosoever shall upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Save from a life of separation from God.
John 3:16 declare that God so love the world that He give His only begotten son that whoso ever believe on the name of the lord will not perish but have eternal life. The passing of these two lovely people is a good reminder to get serious with God before it’s too late. Now is the accepted time not tomorrow.
Only last week saw three interviews of Debbie and Carrie. The Oprah interview of 2011 is quite remarkable.
When Singing in the Rain first came out, we took our two little girls (about ages 5 and 8) to the Metropolitan Theater in downtown Houston to see the movie. On the way back to our car they danced around every pole; they were transported to the street where Debbie Reynolds and Gene Kelly danced. And to think Debbie Reynolds at only 19 years old became a star, instantly.
Debby was also great in the Unsinkable Molly Brown..
2 remarkable human beings taken from us all. RIP.! I am sure both Todd and Billie can take comfort from all of those that have shown love at this time of their family’s loss!
Wonderful comments. They will be missed. I just lost my daughter about two weeks ago. and it is so hard, she felt like she had to take care of me, but I guess that wasn’t the way it was meant to be. I also lost my son many years ago at just 27. My daughter was in so much pain and as much a I didn’t want to loose her I told her , ” I loved her so much, that I would always miss her and that it was OK to go. I pray I will be with both of them some day. I still have one daughter a grand daughter and a great grand daughter, for which I am so very thankful.
Dear Ruby, I felt your heartbreak as you spoke of losing your own daughter 2 weeks ago. Sending you hugs & a promise to lift you in prayer. ❤❤❤❤❤
I am a asking from my self? Why so many stars? Have they lived life at the fast lane? Did they not understand when the body changes needs to be with that change. Or to many good things? Or to many events with lots of stress? I think fame comes with a lots giving and over running the natural functions of the body. Burns the body out before it’s time. If they were ill that is also can be attributed to many years of testing the body to the extreme. I really can’t tell. Or could it be that the stars have lowered the morality? Or can it be God’s supernatural ways to reduce the ways to restore the morale ways of of humanity. Do not see do not crave it. It is of God’s to know why.
The natural thing is when you are young, most people aspire to becoming rich, whatever that means. An addition to that would be FAME and noteriety. I have come to believe, as have most of the folks I know at my age, that all those things actually are a burden that some people cannot carry. Thinking back, I know that things worked out for us in the best possible way. We don’t have a lot of money but we are comfortable. We are not widely known, although we have a LOT of friends, and nobody bothers us. No high pressure performances, no traveling back and forth between cities and continents, just good old fashioned comfort, home and family and not much to worry about. Gives us time to take care of our health so we can continue this lifestyle for years more. We don’t lack anything, in fact have more than we need. Life is good. That is what I would NEVER envy about celebrity.
IT can never be taken for granted that all people go to heaven, BECAUSE, sadly, most do not! It is also NOT known that Carrie or Debbie ever gave any personal testimony of Salvation or of profession Christ Jesus! 1 Tim 6:12b KJV …a good profession before many witnesses. There are those that have done this: Reggie White, Tim Tebow and more than that today, but many in the latter years! I pray these women are in the “Good” HANDS of GOD! 1 Peter 3:18 KJV
RIP Tammy
Your one of my life time favorites. I hope your singing and dancing with Gene and Donald! Even at 84 you were still a talented, beautiful woman inside and out.
A fine lady and an excellent actress… RIP and thank you for entertainment!
Bless them both.
These unexpected and truly sad deaths must remind us to live our short lives on planet earth with gratitude and compassion to all sentient beings. May they rest in Peace………JM.
Dont recall celeb deaths so close to each other IE hours vs days or weeks.
So Sad to lose this Talent
OK Hollywood give Star to Carrie Fisher than OK.
Long overdue.
For B movie Queen or other roles.
Honor family at Oscars event too, since Both gave Much to make Hollywood what it is Today.
Debbie Reynolds always reminded me of my Aunt Mary. They were similar in appearance and manner. Therefore, I always loved Debbie and watched all her movies. Then when “Star Wars” came along I was a Carrie fan. So sad to lose both so close together. The world will remember their contribution to us all.
My prayers for Todd and Billie, as well as other family members and friends. This is a lot to take in. I can only imagine. May God bless all of you as you seek to make peace and receive comfort. Psalm 91.
One doesn’t live eternally in heaven. A person comes back with Jesus to rule the earth when He returns.

Both gone too soon. RIP Debbie and Carrie
May they both Rest in Peace & Sleep With The Angels!!
We are keeping the family in our thoughts & prayers.
My condolences to all loving fans of Debbie and Carrie. We are so fortunate to have loved and enjoyed the talents of these beautuful ladies. I know they are having great times together with their Savior, Our sweet Lord, Jesus and the God of the Universe!
Debby Was also in a movie Called the Unsinkable Molly Brown.. RIP Mother and Daughter..
“It is given to all men once to die, and then the judgement.”
Both of them will be brought back looking as they did at age 30.
ONE REALLY CAN DIE OF A BROKEN HEART. SO SAD BUT NOW THEY’RE TOGETHER AT THEIR FINAL DESTINATION. REST IN PEACE, MOM AND DAUGHTER.
“Singing in the Rain”–Great entertainment; but my mind is directed to Jesus’ words in John’s Gospel, chapter 6, verses 28 and 29 (NLT version): “They (the crowds following Jesus) replied, ‘We want to perform God’s works, too. What should we do?’ Jesus told them, “This is the only work God wants from you: Believe in the one he has sent.” ‘ ” God’s plan for people to be redeemed and forgiven of their sins could not be more gracious or simple, but it requires true repentance, honesty and unfeigned trust–faith. Scripture tells, “Without faith it is impossible to please God”. It also tells us that God is “Holy. Holy, Holy”–Perfect. God’s Lamb (Jesus, the Jewish Messiah) in His sinlessness, was crucified and suffered the punishment of hell which all us wicked humans deserve (the greatest wickedness is to neglect the worship of God, because man was placed on this earth for one reason–to reflect God’s glory in loving relationship and obedience). Because Jesus was able to bear our punishment for us, God’s Holy Scriptures tell us in Jesus’ own words: “Believe in the one he has sent.” Jesus said in another place, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying…” (John 11:25, 26 NLT). We humans were designed in God’s image, but the whole race has fallen into rebellion. The way to heaven was again described by Jesus when He told Nicodemus, “You must be born again” (John 3:7 NLT). When any human being is enabled by the Holy Spirit to put his/her entire trust in Jesus, the New Birth occurs, and that person is born again and becomes an adopted member of God’s divine family. Only our arch-foe, the fallen angel, Lucifer, could lead us into the total insanity of refusing God’s offer of reconciliation and eternal life which our Father-God provides for us AS A FREE GIFT because He Himself in the person of His Only Son, Jesus, has paid the price for our redemption. Christmas is the celebration highlighted by gift giving–because of God’s UNBELIEVABLE GIFT OF HIMSELF TO PAY THE PENALTY FOR OUR REJECTION OF HIM AS OUR CREATOR. May God restore our sanity by giving us the new birth, is our prayer for ourself and all humanity.
I have been reduced to tears after reading about Debbie Reynolds and her daughter. I can sympathize. My youngest daughter has not spoken to me in 20 years. My heart brakes whenever I dwell on it. I have tried with cards, letters, and left a message on her answering machine, even sent a gift for her 50th birthday, which was refused. All I can do is pray for her, and I do that each and every day. She was my little angel. My heart is broken, but God loves me, and I love God and my daughter! I ask the Holy Spirit to ease my heart-ache!
Rest in peace Debbie and Carrie..What a shock, to say the least..Bless Todd and may our Lord be with him..We live such a short time on earth, which brings me to really think about how blessed I am when I thank God for my many blessings…sometimes people thank the Lord for their blessings ( like me), but when you get in the habit of saying this in prayer, I find myself just “saying” it without really thinking about it…I will really dwell on being more sincere in my prayers now.. The world will miss you two beautiful ladies…
