A Congressional Democrat is in hot water for sticking up for the world’s worst terrorist organization—and the media has swept the whole thing under the rug.
Americans are boiling mad now that it’s come out that Congresswoman Ilhan Omar asked a judge to take it easy on 9 men who tried to join ISIS.
When prosecutors wanted to throw the book at these terrorists-in-training, Omar begged the judge to have mercy on them.
Judge Michael Davis was about to sentence the men to 30 or more years in prison…and for a good reason.
One of them sent text messages to terrorists in Syria.
Another threatened to murder FBI agents.
One of them planned to travel to Syria to commit jihad.
But Omar wrote to the judge that long jail sentences would make terrorists feel unloved—we need more “inclusion” and “rehabilitation”!
Giving them a long stay in a cold jail cell would only “create an environment in which extremism can flourish.”
Omar, who was a state representative at the time, actually tried to tell the judge that the best way to fight radical Islam is by letting ISIS members roam the streets!
“Incarcerating 20-year-old men for 30 or 40 years is essentially a life sentence,” she wrote. (Only if you die at 50.)
Harsh punishment would teach terrorists that “Americans do not accept you and continue to trivialize your value. Instead of being a nobody, be a martyr.”
Omar, who came to the United States from Somalia when she was 12, begged for the judge to wrap her fellow Muslims up in “a system of compassion.”
The judge ignored her letter and sentenced the men to 30 or more years in prison.
An appeals court upheld his sentence last August—and the press called the evidence against the men “overwhelming.”
The man Omar tried to save was Abdirahman Yasin Daud, who got busted purchasing a passport to go to Syria.
He planned to wage jihad in the heart of ISIS…the terrorist group that perpetrated genocide against Christians.
If they asked, then he’d tell immigration officials that he just went to a wedding in Turkey.
He didn’t know that agents had intercepted text messages that he sent to a Syrian terrorist, working out his alibi.
It was the perfect crime until Daud got caught—and Omar tried to run interference for him.
In the end Daud, who is also a Somali Muslim, broke down in tears in court.
He admitted, “I was not going there to pass out medical kits or food. I was going strictly to fight and kill on behalf of the Islamic State!”
Conservative activist Candace Owens drew attention to Omar’s role in trying to spring her ISIS buddies on Twitter:

What’s worse, it’s not exactly the first time Omar went way out on a limb…and the Democrat Party hasn’t done anything about it!
In 2012, Omar tweeted that “Israel has hypnotized the world” and then prayed: “May Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel.”
When CNN—of all places—asked her about the comment, she said she just couldn’t understand “how my comments would be offensive to Jewish-Americans.” (How baffling!)
She defended the Black Israelites—the thugs who attacked the Covington Catholic High School students with racist epithets at the Lincoln Memorial after the March for Life.
Omar deleted a tweet that accused the Covington kids of supporting rape…but only after an attorney warned her that she could be sued if she didn’t back down.
She lied about her support for the anti-Israeli Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement, until she got elected.
She now supports sanctions against Israel—but not socialist Venezuela where the president is starving and murdering his own citizens.
She accused Senator Lindsey Graham of being “compromised”…hinting that foreign agents blackmailed Graham because he’s gay. (Graham has never said that he is gay.)
And she’s done all this since she got sworn in less than a month ago!
Even in a political swamp full of crooks, radicals, and socialists, Omar may be the most dangerous person in the Democratic Party.
