Now, that’s some spicy sauce straight from Knoxville!
Rep. Tim Burchett, R-T.N., just reignited Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s Father’s Day grilling photo scandal from 2024, posting his own grilling image on social media Monday night while ripping apart the New York Democrat’s viral mishap.
Burchett posted a photo of himself grilling burgers on X with the caption: “Is it time for the cheese @SenSchumer.”

The tweet referenced Schumer’s boneheaded Father’s Day photo from 2024, where the 73-year-old Senate majority leader placed cheese on raw burger patties in a staged photo. The original photo sparked widespread social media criticism and was eventually deleted by Schumer.
Schumer had initially posted the photo about his family’s first backyard barbecue.
“Our family has lived in an apartment building for all our years, but my daughter and her wife just bought a house with a backyard and for the first time we’re having a barbecue with hot dogs and hamburgers on the grill!” Schumer wrote in the now-deleted post. “Father’s Day Heaven!”
The Brooklyn-born senator immediately drew criticism from social media users who questioned putting cheese on uncooked meat.
“Chuck. I love you man, but you put the cheese on AFTER the burger is cooked,” one user commented.
“Might want to cook that burger longer, Chuck,” another wrote.
Former National Republican Senatorial Committee member Matt Whitlock tweeted about “seeing that piece of cheese on a raw patty” along with a concerned reaction gif.
Critics accused Schumer of “staging” the photo and described his technique as lacking “basic male tasks” and “standard American life skills.” Some commenters said Schumer was “NYC clueless about barbecuing.”

Senator Chuck Schumer has no idea how to do basic male tasks like run a grill.
His staff and family saw this happen and none of them thought putting cheese on a raw patty was odd. That's the type of company & advisors this man surrounds himself with.

Much has been said about Sen Schumer's now deleted tweet about his 1st experience with a backyard barbecue.
Yes, cheese on raw hamburger shows he is NYC clueless about barbecuing
But, he appears to not be using an Electric Grill, not good, since he was an anti-gas zealot

I’m not a grill master by any stretch. You don’t have to be to know Chuck Schumer has no clue what he’s doing.
This photo looks very staged and someone probably said:
“Wait, throw a slice of cheese on one of the burgers, make it look real.”
