Chaos back at the border? White House responds…

The White House responded to reports by MS Now on Monday that President Donald Trump is considering firing Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.

White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson said it was fake news, and Noem is doing a great job keeping the border secure.

“Everything about this is total Fake News. Secretary Noem is doing a great job implementing the President’s agenda and making America safe again. MS Now continues to beclown themselves by inventing narratives that simply are not true,” Jackson said in a statement.

MS Now, previously MSNBC, claimed that Noem is on “very thin ice” and that White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller is leading the campaign for her removal.

MS Now’s Jake Traylor reported Miller is dissatisfied with the pace of expansion of detention facilities. Congress passed legislation earlier this year allocating $45 billion to Noem for building immigration enforcement facilities, and that multiple governors have called Trump personally to complain about Noem over FEMA relief funds.

“Miller has grown increasingly frustrated that she has not done that in the efficient time that has been allocated,” Traylor said on air.

“So, really, a twofold frustration that Miller personally has with Kristi Noem and the White House official that I spoke with said that the decision is not actually fully finalized in terms of her ousting,” Traylor said.

Noem’s chief adviser Corey Lewandowski denied the reports.

“None of that is true,” Lewandowski said.

The reports came roughly a week after Noem pushed for an expanded travel ban set to apply to more than 30 countries.

“I won’t be specific on the number, but it’s over 30. And the president is continuing to evaluate countries,” Noem told Fox News last week.

“I just met with the President. I am recommending a full travel ban on every d*mn country that’s been flooding our nation with killers, leeches, and entitlement junkies,” Noem said.

“Our forefathers built this nation on blood, sweat, and the unyielding love of freedom—not for foreign invaders to slaughter our heroes, suck dry our hard-earned tax dollars, or snatch the benefits owed to AMERICANS,” Noem said. “WE DON’T WANT THEM. NOT ONE.”

Noem has publicly shown support for Trump in recent appearances. At a recent Cabinet meeting, she thanked Trump for the job.

“Some days it’s a little controversial too, but it’s been an honor to work for you. You are a great American. The fights that you pick are the right fights, and they’re on behalf of this country,” Noem said.

Noem has served as Homeland Security Secretary since Trump took office in January 2025. She was previously the Governor of South Dakota.
