House Speaker Paul Ryan is disappointed with the decision to not indict presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton – and he’s asking the Director of National Intelligence James Clapper to deny her access to classified information.
Ryan has formally requested that Clapper deny Clinton the type of classified briefings given to presidential nominees before the general election – because she can’t be trusted.
Ryan says that in light of the FBI’s findings from its investigation of Clinton’s email practices while secretary of state, barring her from classified briefings “certainly constitutes appropriate sanctions.”
“When I was Mitt Romney’s running mate, I got classified briefings every week by the CIA, by National Intelligence, very sensitive information, which you get as a candidate once a convention occurs,” Ryan told Fox News’ Megyn Kelly in an interview Wednesday. “I think the the Director of National Intelligence should block [Clinton’s] access to classified information given how recklessly she handled this during the presidential campaign. If she becomes president, that’s one thing. But I don’t think she should get classified information, and I think the DNI should block it given how recklessly she handled this from the start.”
The Wisconsin Republican said in a letter to the DNI that if Clapper rejects the request, Ryan wants him to provide his rationale for granting Clinton access to such information “despite the FBI’s findings.”
FBI Director James Comey said on Tuesday there was no evidence Clinton or her aides willfully or intentionally mishandled classified information and that “no reasonable prosecutor” would pursue such a case. But he cited them for being “extremely careless” and he contradicted many of the explanations Clinton has long put forward.

I have a question. When her lawyers were reviewing all her emails to determine which ones to delete, did any one of them have the required security clearance to be allowed access to the emails? For your info:”classified ” information includes Confidential, the lowest level, Secret,(mid level), Top Secret and another level of very special clearances generally called Compartmented Access. which means access to areas where only Extremely Sensitive information is discussed and those who are allowed access are investigated thoroughly and completely deemed to be worthy of the NEED for that access. The last is only granted to a very few specific individuals in need of being in an area where that info is discussed or those few individuals work. I once held a Top Secret security clearance. If I had handled sensitive or classified documents the way that Hillary has I would not only have lost my clearance. I would have been brought up on charges as well. It would not matter if my actions had been deliberate or if I had been incompetent or merely careless.
