The Democratic Party claims to want fair elections, then it hires the nation’s most expensive lawyers to pound away at voter integrity laws like Mike Tyson punching the heavy bag.
The Left’s ugliest voter fraud schemes were on full display all over the nation this week. The good news is, the rule of law triumphed in a few places.
First, the Democrats lost a court battle to let non-citizens vote in a pivotal swing state.
On Wednesday, Special Superior Court Judge Hoyt Tessener sided with the Republican Party against the Democratic National Committee and the North Carolina State Board of Elections after the GOP sued to prevent non-residents from voting in federal elections.
The North Carolina Supreme Court had already ruled that the state constitution bars non-residents from voting in state and local elections—but Democrats running the election machinery decided to let non-residents keep on voting in federal elections.
“Despite expressly prohibiting Never Residents from voting in state elections, the State Board continues to allow their participation in federal elections,” argued Republican lawyers in court. “But with the 2026 midterms fast-approaching…the State Board’s conflicting registration practices risk ushering in election-altering outcomes for federal contests.”
Tessener agreed with Republican lawyers that the case proved people aren’t U.S. citizens shouldn’t have a say in the state’s presidential or congressional elections.
But the liberals didn’t lose for lack of trying. The DNC called in the big guns, hiring big-dollar Democratic election fixer Marc Elias. His Elias Law Group fought for the law-breaking voter provisions in court along with the North Carolina Asians Together and El Pueblo.
If the name Marc Elias rings a bell, it should: He ran the Perkins Coie law firm—Hillary Clinton’s legal eagles—before he started his own election-focused practice. In 2024, Elias sued Pennsylvania officials to count ballot from people who are not registered to vote or who voted in a county other than the one where they lived.
In his latest losing case, Elias admitted exactly why he opposed the Republicans’ proposed election integrity deal: It would help the Trump administration deport illegal aliens.
“The Department of Justice and Department of Homeland Security are close to finalizing an agreement to use voter registration data for immigration investigations,” so “non-citizens may reasonably fear that exercising their right to vote will expose them or their family members to immigration scrutiny,” said Elias’ lawyers.
Luckily, the judge ignored them and agreed to a negotiated settlement: From now on if someone claims not to be a U.S. citizen when called for jury duty, it would disqualify him from voting in any election in North Carolina—and his citizenship would be made public. If that means he’s deported, so be it.
“This is a clear win for fair and lawful elections,” said RNC Chairman Joe Gruters. “The court upheld the North Carolina Constitution and made clear that only North Carolina residents can vote in the state.”
The week’s other welcome news came one earlier, when Trump-appointed U.S. District Judge Carl Nichols ruled that President Donald Trump’s executive order taking aim at mail-in ballot abuse can go into effect, at least for now.
But while the law and valid elections won in one state this week, they lost in another.

On Friday, an illegal alien named Ian Andre Roberts made his appearance in a Maryland courtroom to be sentenced for multiple immigration violations.
Roberts, who is from Guyana, held jobs as a well-paid public school administrator or superintendent in four states—Maryland, Iowa, Missouri, and Pennsylvania—even though he’s not a U.S. citizen and has no work permit.
While Roberts was doing the jobs Americans would have loved to do, he also registered to vote in our elections. In fact, he’s still registered to vote in Maryland, according to a review of local voter rolls carried out by national media.
This foreigner’s about to face justice for massive immigration fraud, yet his vote counts as much as yours.
And, as readers of The Horn know, he’s far from the only one. Liberals campaign harder for the non-Americans’ votes than they do for yours.
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass said earlier this month that “we need to explore” ways to let non-citizens vote in L.A. elections.
But the dirty secret is, they already are. Even Barack Obama’s Secretary of Homeland Security admitted illegal aliens vote in U.S. elections.

An illegal alien from Mexico named Jose Ceballos voted in U.S. elections—for himself. Ceballo got elected mayor of Coldwater, Kansas, a southern Kansas town of 820 residents near the Oklahoma border. He had been registered to vote since 1990 but only bothered to apply for U.S. citizenship this February.
Illegal aliens’ votes have snowballed nationwide. Last October, Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose discovered more than 1,084 cases of non-citizens registered to vote in Vice President J.D. Vance’s home state.
Just days earlier, Texas Secretary of State Jane Nelson removed 2,724 non-citizens from the voter rolls in the biggest, reddest state in the country. And that came six years after state Attorney General Ken Paxton struck 95,000 illegals from Texas voter rolls. Unfortunately, 58,000 non-citizens had already voted in one or more Texas elections.
The same cynical cycle has played out for years in red states and blue states alike.
The Horn News reported that Oregon State Rep. Ed Diehl presented evidence that the Secretary of State’s office registered 1,257 voters with no proof of eligibility or citizenship just before the 2024 election—and nine voted.
Colorado’s Democratic Secretary of State Jena Griswold told public radio she “incorrectly” mailed instructions on voter registration to 31,093 non-citizens in 2023. Oops!
In Pennsylvania in October 2017, officials admitted at least 544 non-citizens had voted in state elections.
Also in 2017, the Public Interest Legal Foundation found that 5,556 non-citizens registered to vote in Virginia and succeeded in casting 7,474 ballots in the Old Dominion.
These are just the felonious actions Democrats take to get ineligible voters signed up to vote. It doesn’t include their long history of bribery and old fashioned election fraud.
And don’t get us started on Democratic shenanigans once they start counting the “votes.”
The Republican Party claims that it plans to fight tooth-and-nail against foreign infiltration of our elections from now on. But disturbing signals from the GOP leadership may show that’s a bald-faced lie.
“The RNC will keep fighting to ensure only eligible citizens can vote,” said Gruters after the North Carolina decision.
But despite the evidence of Democratic election rigging, Senate Republicans refuse to pass the SAVE America Act, which would require would-be voters to prove their citizenship before casting a ballot.
That’s reasonable to you and me, but not to Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D.
Democrats have been caught red-handed supporting every kind of crime, farce, and trick to win elections. But is it really winning if the other side usually refuses to fight?
