Bob Dylan sued for underage sex scandal (from… 1965?)

Legendary folk singer Bob Dylan is being sued.

And according to the filing party, Dylan allegedly abused a 12-year-old girl.

In the 1960s…

Reports have surfaced citing the lawsuit filed in the Manhattan Supreme Court, which alleged that Dylan “over a six-week period between April and May of 1965 befriended and established an emotional connection with the plaintiff.”

Court documents charge that Dylan — real name Robert Allen Zimmerman — devised a grand scheme to ultimately molest and abuse the victim.

Specifically, the alleged victim claims they were controlled with drugs and alcohol in both a Manhattan, New York City hotel and apartment.

Dylan’s goal was allegedly to “lower [the alleged victim’s] inhibitions with the object of sexually abusing her, which he did, coupled with the provision of drugs, alcohol, and threats of physical violence, leaving her emotionally scarred and psychologically damaged to this day”.

The alleged victim claims to be haunted by the event, citing “depression, humility and anxiety” The Independent reported.

The plaintiff is so far only known as “J.C.” in court documents.

Notably, the claim is 56 years old, dating back to 1965.

A spokesperson for Dylan rejected the claim as “untrue” and that the singer-songwriter will be “vigorously defended” against the accusations.

As for the lawsuit, it seems the victim and her team filed it in a timely manner.

New York state recently announced it would allow any victim of child abuse to file a suit regardless of how much time has passed, and whether or not it exceeded the statute of limitations.

This isn’t the only legal drama Dylan has been in lately.

The wife of an ex-collaborator just unsuccessfully sued the folk star in an attempt to get a revenue share of his song collection.

We’ll keep our eyes on the details and share more information as it becomes known.
