Former President Bill Clinton delivered a brazen display of political gaslighting Sunday when he claimed he “never” witnessed Joe Biden’s cognitive decline during his presidency, despite overwhelming evidence that Democrats and the media spent years covering up Biden’s mental deterioration.
The 78-year-old Clinton appeared on CBS Sunday Morning to promote his new book “The First Gentleman” and was confronted with explosive allegations from the bombshell book “Original Sin: President Biden’s Decline, Its Cover-Up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again” by CNN’s Jake Tapper and Axios’ Alex Thompson.
When CBS correspondent Tracy Smith asked Clinton point-blank, “Did you ever have a moment with him where you thought maybe he was unfit to run for president?” Clinton responded with a straight face: “No. I thought he was a good president.”
“The only concern I thought he had to deal with was, could anybody do that job until they were 86? And we’d had several long talks. I had never seen him and walked away thinking he can’t do this anymore. He was always on top of his brief,” Clinton said.
When Smith pressed further, asking “You never saw any cognitive decline?” Clinton firmly replied “no” and claimed he saw Biden “not very long ago” and “thought he was in good shape.”
The former president’s denial flys in the face of what millions of Americans witnessed with their own eyes during Biden’s catastrophic presidency.
Critics frequently pointed out Biden’s confusion in public, his bizarre behavior, his inability to complete sentences, and his obvious mental fog that worsened dramatically over his four years in office. Republicans have openly asked if longtime Biden aides and family members, including First Lady Jill Biden and Hunter Biden, were actually running the country.
Biden was largely incapable of maintaining focus for extended periods and that his administration actively worked to conceal his decline from the public even as they pushed him to run for a second term.
Clinton’s claims become even more absurd when you consider how Biden’s team went to extraordinary lengths to shield him from public appearances used their mainstream media allies to try and hide his true condition.
Biden has also been diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer, raising even more questions about what Democrats knew about Biden’s health problems and when they knew it.
Clinton’s performance on CBS represents everything wrong with the Democratic establishment’s willingness to lie to the American people. For years, Democrats and their media allies perpetuated what amounts to one of the biggest political hoaxes in modern history by trying to cover up Biden’s obvious cognitive decline.
They told Americans not to believe what they were seeing with their own eyes. They attacked anyone who dared to question Biden’s mental fitness as spreading “cheap fakes” or conspiracy theories. They gaslit the entire country while propping up a president who was clearly unfit for office.
Now, even after Biden has been forced from office and the truth has been exposed in devastating detail, Clinton still refuses to acknowledge reality — proof that the Democratic establishment learned nothing from their massive 2024 election loss, and has no intention of being honest with voters.
Clinton’s refusal to acknowledge Biden’s obvious decline isn’t just dishonest – it’s an insult to every voter who could see what was really happening but was told they were imagining things.
