“On the Holmes Front,” with Frank Holmes
You may think that the 2024 presidential election is three years away, but the elites know better. The primaries are already hot underway, and there’s bad, bad news for Vice President Kamala Harris: The Democratic Party seems to want just about anybody else to be its presidential nominee.
Joe Biden tapped Harris to be vice president in part because he had promised to pick a woman, perhaps especially a “woman of color.” Everyone thought she was being groomed to take his place—and fast—as president of the United States.
Then something terrible happened: She opened her mouth.
Now, voters give her snake-belly low approval ratings, and the Democrats are looking everywhere for somebody else to replace the scatterbrained, 79-year-old president.
The war inside the party is getting so hot that that insiders say the White House is being divided against itself by rumors that the DNC wants to replace Joe Biden and Kamala Harris with Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.
MSNBC accidentally let the truth slip out on Wednesday. “The invisible primary — the process by which party elites try to pick a candidate well before any votes are cast or voters even form opinions on candidates — is often ugly business, and it’s already underway,” the left-wing network reported on Wednesday.
Political insiders are already casting their votes, picking their candidates, and throwing elbows… and Harris is way behind in the count.
Her poll numbers are lower than Joe Biden’s, she’s unlikeable, and two more staffers just quit her dysfunctional office.
The two 2024 hopefuls, Kamala and Buttigieg, pretended to promote Biden’s infrastructure bill in a joint appearance in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Thursday—but it might be smarter to think of it as an “invisible primary” stop.
Harris sat behind the wheel of an electric-powered bus and sang, “The wheels on the bus go round and round.” But the wheels on her bus appear to be coming off—and the Democratic Party may want to throw her under that bus, and put Mayor Pete in the driver’s seat.
People inside the White House’s West Wing have been talking about Buttigieg’s possible run for president in 2024.
“Nobody in the West Wing shuts that down,” one source familiar with the conversations Politico. “It’s very open.”
And, even though it’s a major breach of etiquette in polite political circles, Pete Buttigieg sure isn’t shutting the talk down.”
Pete still has his political action committee, Win the Era, up and running. And the Biden people seem to like him more than Harris—which is why they defended him so strongly when he took “paternity leave” after adopting a child.
Kamala Harris’ friends and advisors are boiling mad at the way the veep has been kicked to the curb.
“It’s hard to miss the specific energy that the White House brings to defend a white man, knowing that Kamala Harris has spent almost a year taking a lot of the hits that the West Wing didn’t want to take themselves,” a former aide to Harris told CNN.
But deep down, she’s worried sick that her party is going to bounce her and give her spot to Mayor Pete.
A former Kamala aide said, “I don’t think she’s got a stranglehold on the party.”
Yeah! That’s probably an understatement.
It shouldn’t be that surprising: Even the Democratic Party’s voters liked Buttigieg better than Harris. His campaign kept moving long after Harris wore out her welcome and dropped out of the 2020 race.
A CNN political commentator even tried to make peace between the two by suggesting they team up to kick Sleepy Joe out of the White House. “A Harris-Buttigieg ticket would showcase two dynamic politicians and represent the breadth and diversity of the Democratic Party, and indeed the whole country, while not veering too far left and alienating key swing voters who Biden won in 2020,” a political pundit named Lincoln Mitchell wrote for CNN recently.
Not only would the two motivate Black voters, Asian voters, and gay voters to turn out in 2024, Mitchell wrote, but Kamala Harris and Pete Buttigieg “are essentially moderates.”
I’m sorry, Mitchell, but nobody who wants to give free healthcare to illegal immigrants is a “moderate” on anything. That’s exactly the Democratic Party’s real problem.
It’s not just that Joe Biden is old, slow, and angry. It’s not just that Cacklin’ Kamala is an entitled airhead. It’s not just that Mayor Pete is boring, smug, and elitist.
It’s that the entire Democratic Party platform reads like it was written by a focus group made up of Black Panthers and professors of Women’s Studies 101.
Nobody elected the president to leave Americans inside Afghanistan’s borders while protecting drug dealers, human smugglers, and illegal aliens inside our own borders.
Nobody elected an administration to teach children that America is a fundamentally racist and evil country—or to spy on parents who had the guts to speak out against it.
We don’t like it when our elected officials laugh off the way we pay more money at the pump, at the grocery store, and in our heating bills.
It doesn’t matter whether it’s Biden, Harris, Buttigieg, or anybody else delivering the lines. It’s still a show the American people don’t want to renew for a second season in 2024.
