Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., considers herself the leader of the new Democratic Party — but far-left activists have recently turned on the New York socialist.
And it’s all over a dog.
AOC is under fire for buying a purebred puppy — which angered the animal rights group PETA. By buying a purebred, Ocasio-Cortez is contributing to what PETA considers an ongoing problem: She didn’t adopt a rescue.
PETA President Ingrid Newkirk suggested the move proves Ocasio-Cortez is a liar in an open letter.
“AOC had a chance to set a compassionate, responsible example in the face of the homeless-animal crisis, but instead, she apparently inadvertently contributed to the problem,” Newkirk said. “PETA is urging her supporters not to follow her lead in this case and to stick up for the underdog by choosing to give a lovable mutt a new lease on life.”
“With millions of dogs, including Frenchies, homeless in shelter cages waiting for homes, @AOC’s choice to publicize getting a purebred puppy is disappointing. As a person who fights for justice, we doubt she could’ve realized the implications.”
Here’s a pic of the pup below, which AOC showed off on social media:
Yes! 🐶 the goal is to train him to be a community pup. Ideally we want to work to the point where he can enjoy town halls, be an Amtrak pup, come to the office, etc.

AOC’s dog, which does not yet have a name, is in a crate… another problem for PETA, Newkirk said.
Newkirk said she’s mailing Ocasio-Cortez a how-to book to explain “why crate training is not humane or effective.”
She also demanded the New York congresswoman to adopt a second dog as a companion while AOC spends time at work.
“With the millions of homeless dogs out there, you apparently chose to buy a purebred puppy instead of adopting one from an animal shelter. Right this minute, on Petfinder alone, there are more than 110,000 dogs—including French bulldogs—who need homes.”
There’s just no pleasing the far-left… and even AOC is officially in the doghouse.
