REp. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., says climate change is a very, very big deal.
She claims the world has less than 12 years to reverse the effects — or there will be an apocoylpse.
And she’ll blame anything she can on this issue. In fact, Monday she blamed the wildfires engulfing California forests on climate change.
But there was one big problem: It’s not true.
And critics on social media destroyed her over the misguided tweet.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wrote: “This is what climate change looks like. The GOP like to mock scientific warnings about climate change as exaggeration. But just look around: it’s already starting. We have 10 years to cut carbon emissions in half. If we don’t, scenes like this can get much worse.”

The levelheaded folks on Twitter let her have it big time.
One Twitter user pointed out that California wildfires are natural, and happen all the time.
“Go home,” they added.

Experts weighed in, tooo.

Another user put the blame on California’s liberal policies for its issues.
California is having issues based on the way they are running the state. This isn’t climate change.

One user pointed out that the fire was caused by strong wings, which The Los Angeles Times mentioned in reporting on the disaster.

Almost everyone agreed: AOC is (once again) lying through her teeth.
She wrote that the wildfires are what climate change looks like.
And Twitter showed her what it looks like when a politician doesn’t stick to the facts.
