The American Islamic State group fighter who handed himself over to Kurdish forces in Iraq’s north earlier this week says he made “a bad decision” joining IS, according to a heavily edited interview he gave to an Iraqi Kurdish television station that aired late Thursday night.
Mohamad Jamal Khweis, 26, from Alexandria, Virginia detailed his weeks-long journey from the United States to London, Amsterdam and Turkey. There he said he met an Iraqi woman who arranged his travel through Syria and finally to Mosul.
“I didn’t agree with their ideology,” he said, explaining why he decided to escape a few weeks after arriving.
Khweis gave himself up to Iraqi Kurdish forces in northern Iraq on Monday.
As IS militants lose territory, U.S. officials predict there will be more desertions.

I’m not sure the headline accurately fits the story. I didn’t see in the story where anything was mentioned about him doing this for a girl. The story only mentions he met an Iraqi woman who arranged the trip.
I saw something about this on the Today Show. I’m surprised someone could not know what they were getting themselves into before joining ISIS. This group became known for its video showing group members killing hostages. I’m having trouble understanding how someone can join a group that openly murders its captives and then be turned off once they join the group. This guy is lucky that he is still alive. I’m going to guess that he is a marked man. A fatwa has probably been issued for him.

Do you know the story about the wolf is coming? If you don’t have someone tell it to you. A man with his name, a license of a 21 year old man, with an address in VA are plenty of ways that ISIS will use to infiltrate their kind into our Nation. The story is fake. He should be sent back to Syria without delay.
Either that or now that he has been trained he is being sent back for a specific reason…

For all those who are campaigning for life imprisonment or execution of this unfortunate young man, please consider that there are videos one can easily find on youtube where both Obama and McCain are speaking favorably about ISIS – about supplying them, training them, giving them arms and ammunition, vehicles and money – what do you think should happen to THEM? What do you think of all their lackeys who made the foregoing happen?
What THEY did is, IMO, immeasurably worse.

You should look for vids from at least 6 months ago or more, and especially from those opposed to D’OweBama – because after the Russians entered Syria, all of a sudden D’OweBama was all for destroying ISIS/ISIL instead of supplying and funding them, aka in the Constitution under the definition of “Treason” as “giving aid and comfort to them.”(for a complete definition of Treason, see Article 3 Section 3 of the Constitution.) Remember also to check “Obama ISIL” and “Obama Muslim Brotherhood,” assuming you desire to get a more full(yet still incomplete) picture of the depth of betrayal of his oath of office and America he has descended to.
