During a shocking appearance on NewsmaxTV Monday, former President Donald Trump’s top legal adviser and a leader of the Republican Party, Jenna Ellis, suddenly quit the political party.
And she said she’s not coming back until Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel and all the other current GOP leadership resign.
Ellis’ resignation happened after an email surfaced from chief legal counsel to the RNC, Justin Riemer, calling Ellis and former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani’s post-election legal efforts a “joke.”
Ellis said it was proof that the Republican Party wasn’t doing enough to support Trump.
She quit while live on-air and called on other supporters of Trump to withhold their donations and votes from Republicans until all current leadership resigned.
“Sure, the Republicans claim to be keeping Democrats in check, but only a handful of outsiders are actually speaking up,” she said on an appearance on “Real America’s Voice.”
“The rest are compromising on everything,” Ellis said. “The infrastructure bill, for example. Or the second impeachment hoax, when [Senate Minority Leader Mitch] McConnell actually stood up and ranted against President Trump for his own political gain, not for the truth.”
“What happened to the millions raised by the RNC in November and December of 2020 — the Trump team never saw a dime of that help,” she claimed. “All of them, including Ronna McDaniel, should resign now.”
“Until they do, as of today, I am resigning from the party,” Ellis said. “I am changing my voter registration and I am no longer a Republican until the party decides that it wants to be conservative again.”
“Even if I stand alone for the truth, I will stand for the truth,” she said. “A compromised, corrupted majority is not a majority worth being a part of.”
“If we genuinely want to create a more perfect union, we have to stand up for our principles against the corrupted machine of self-serving politicians in Washington,” Ellis concluded.
The RNC has denied a recent report that Giuliani and Riemer had clashed in November 2020 after the RNC chief counsel said the Trump claims about election fraud were false.
“I’m really not trying to give you a hard time but what Rudy and Jenna are doing is a joke and they are getting laughed out of court,” Riemer’s email from Nov. 28th allegedly said. “It’s setting us back in our fight for election integrity and they are misleading millions of people who have wishful thinking that the president is going to somehow win this thing,”
Ellis said on social media the report was true – and she had proof.
“Who the f*** do you think you are?” Giuliani allegedly responded. “You need to resign and resign tonight … because you’re going to be fired.”
