Tucker Carlson has “steamy romance” plan for ratings bump

Fox News’ Tucker Carlson has made a name for himself for his raw, honest, and — at times — controversial political takes on his show.

But a recent segment took a strange, “steamy” turn.

Carlson made a bold promise.

He’s going to read from some “steamy romance novels” live on-air during his Fox News primetime show.

But not just any romance novels.

The romance novels of failed Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams.

If you remember, Abrams in 2018 ran an unsuccessful campaign in Georgia where she lost to eventual winner Brian Kemp. Abrams never conceded the race.

The longtime activist has had a lengthy stint in Democratic Party politics.

But before all of this, she wrote a trio of “steamy” romance novels under the pseudonym “Selena Montgomery.”

Now, the books will be re-released. Critics have called it a cheap cash grab for Abrams. Many credit her for President Joe Biden’s success in the state of Georgia in the 2020 election.

Tucker, meanwhile, is promising to read selections from a book when they are released.

“We’ve got news from the literary world,” Carlson said during a segment this week. “Stacey Abrams, the governor-in-waiting in the state of Georgia, is in her spare time naughty novel writer. Bodice rippers, they call them. Steamy. Sexy. And those books may soon be coming to a bookstore near you.”

He brought on fellow colleague Trace Gallagher, who read an excerpt from one of her books, “The Art of Desire.”

In their kiss, he tasted passion, forgotten chemistry, and her alarm at the loss of control. He felt her tremble as he kissed her hand in the moonlight.

Carlson is promising more is coming.

“We’ve got our producers on the case,” Carlson said during a segment on Wednesday. “And we’re going to have some dramatic readings for you because we can’t resist.”
