Fox News star Tucker Carlson is considered one of the leaders of the conservative movement in the United States — and he just declared war on a new rival.
Carlson has targeted House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-C.A., for his cozy relationship with a “Republican In Name Only” (RINO) and lobbyist, Frank Luntz.
Specifically, Carlson asked why McCarthy was living at Luntz’ luxury penthouse for months — and asked if this has compromised McCarthy.
Luntz is a very well-paid GOP pollster. He is also an outspoken “Never Trump” activist and an active lobbyist for billion-dollar corporations like Google.
“Frank Luntz. Luntz … lobbies on behalf of some of the world’s most left-wing corporations. A lot of people do that, but here’s the interesting thing about Frank Luntz: At the same time he’s doing that, he also advises the leadership of the Republican Party,” Carlson revealed.
“So Frank Luntz works for Google and Nike and Delta Airlines, among many others. Several years ago, Frank Luntz advised the makers of Oxycotin on how to blame rural Americans” as thousands dropped dead of opioid overdoses.
Carlson said that Luntz is “effectively a Democrat” that shouldn’t be advising the Republican Party leadership.
“In real life … his views bear no actual resemblance to the views of average Republican voters,” Carlson said. “So, how did someone like this wind up with so much influence in the Republican Party?”
Carlson said it was because Luntz’ close relationship with McCarthy gave him a large amount of sway — “but that’s not even half” the story.
A source reportedly called Carlson over the weekend and told him that McCarthy and Luntz “aren’t just friends.”
“They’re roommates. Kevin McCarthy lives in Frank Luntz’ apartment in downtown Washington,” he told viewers.
Carlson said the reveal was hard for him to believe at first.
“The top Republican in the House lives with a Google lobbyist?” Carlson said. “Come on! Come on! Even by the sleazy and corrupt standards of politics in Washington, that did not seem possible. In fact, it sounded like a joke.”
But Carlson said his team called to check with Kevin McCarthy’s spokeswoman, who denied the arrangement at first.
After McCarthy’s office was pressed, Carlson received a text message from the spokeswoman that read:
Following up on our conversation from earlier today. Because of the pandemic, McCarthy has rented a room in Washington at a fair market price from Frank.
“So actually, the top Republican in the House does live with someone who lobbies for Google. Mystery solved. Not only are they friends, but they’re roommates!” Carlson said.
“So, now you know why [Republican leadership] listens to Frank Luntz but they don’t listen to you.”
Carlson went on to say that McCarthy’s arrangement could be a violation of House Ethics rules — and be potentially illegal.
