As important as the president is, he can’t handle every detail of policy—especially if the next president is Joe Biden.
Presidents rely on a team of advisors. One of the most influential “experts” on Joe Biden’s coronavirus team believes elderly people shouldn’t receive vaccines, that 75-years-old is the ideal age to die, and he runs a business that profits by convincing politicians to keep you locked down at home.
On Monday, Joe Biden named Zeke Emanuel to his 13-member COVID-19 Advisory Board.
Zeke Emanuel is the brother of ex-Chicago mayor and former president Barack Obama’s chief of staff Rahm Emanuel. Zeke isn’t new to politics: He constructed much of Obamacare. And he’s been one of the leading medical officials demanding national lockdowns.
Joe Biden floated the idea of a “4-6 week” national lockdown—but if his advisor Zeke Emanuel has his way, that will just be the very beginning.
“Realistically, COVID-19 will be here for the next 18 months or more,” Emanuel told MSNBC last April. “We cannot return to normal until there’s a vaccine. Conferences, concerts, sporting events, religious services, dinner in a restaurant, none of that will resume until we find a vaccine, a treatment, or a cure.”
“I know that’s dreadful news to hear,” Zeke said. “How are people supposed to find work if this goes on in some form for a year and a half? Is all that economic pain worth trying to stop COVID-19? The truth is, we have no choice.”
But Zeke won’t be suffering with the little people during the lockdowns: In addition to being an oncologist and a vice provost at the University of Pennsylvania, Zeke is a consultant with a group called COVID-19 RECoVERY Consulting.
When the government issues complicated rules for businesses, Zeke and his group offers to help them understand how to stay open without getting arrested.
“Zeke is doing good by doing well and doing well by doing good,”former New York Times reporter Alex Berenson told Fox News host Tucker Carlson earlier this fall. “He has his own consulting firm where he consults with people for profit to make money from giving them recommendations about how to get around and get past the lockdown advice that he’s pushing—the lockdown that he’s pushing.”
Zeke makes his money by getting the country locked down, then telling businesses how to comply with government rules—rules that he’ll be writing.
“The company is, it’s basically consulting, if you reopen, here’s how to reopen safely,” Bereson said. “He’s encouraging lockdowns to be in place and to be sort of moved back phase by phase. And then if you have a business where you actually want to have customers, he’s going to tell you…how you can do that.”
Unfortunately, profiting off a pandemic may be the least of Emanuel’s outrages. He believes 75 is the best time to die, because life past that age is “feeble, ineffectual, even pathetic.”
“Dying at 75 will not be a tragedy,” he wrote in a 2014 article in The Atlantic. “For many reasons, 75 is a pretty good age to aim to stop.”
I have long argued that we should focus on giving all terminally ill people a good, compassionate death,” he wrote. Deciding to take treatments to cure diseases after that age, which Zeke calls “manic desperation to endlessly extend life,” is “misguided and potentially destructive.”
Because he believe senior citizens should die, Zeke Emanuel wrote that elderly people should not get vaccines, even in a “pandemic.”
“Flu shots are out. Certainly if there were to be a flu pandemic, a younger person who has yet to live a complete life ought to get the vaccine or any antiviral drugs,” he wrote. But a vaccine for an elderly person during a pandemic? No way.
People over 75 shouldn’t even receive antibiotics. “Death from these infections is quick and relatively painless. So, no to antibiotics,” he wrote.
In a 2009 article in the British medical journal The Lancet that America needs a socialized medicine system, where the government will choose who gets medical treatment based on a “complete lives system.”
“Services provided to individuals who are irreversibly prevented from being or becoming participating citizens are not basic and should not be guaranteed. An obvious example is not guaranteeing health services to patients with dementia,” he wrote in a later article.
If Joe Biden prevails in court and listens to his advisor, lockdowns could be the first step to a much darker agenda.
