South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham, whose longshot bid to win the Republican presidential nomination never won traction among voters, is ending his campaign.
In a message to supporters and campaign volunteers, Graham said he felt confident that the Republicans would put forth a candidate who shares his ideals, especially around issues like national security.
“I’m far more confident today that our party will reject the Obama Doctrine of leading from behind and will provide the strong leadership America needs,” he said.
Graham was elected to the United States Senate in 2003 and is currently the senior senator from South Carolina. He sought to run a campaign as a moderate Republican, touting his years of government experience.
But in a race that has been dominated by outsiders like billionaire Donald Trump and Dr. Ben Carson, Graham’s insider status was a disadvantage. He was repeatedly relegated to the under card in GOP debates and was polling in the low single digits.
Graham’s exit thins a Republican field that has been repeatedly criticized for being overcrowded.

Well put…The American people need to wake-up…Personally, unlike Donald Trump I don’t think that there should be a pluperfect blanket ban on all Muslims entering the United States. Upfront, however, I have an insuperable aversion to radical Islamists, Jihadists and Sharia law the latter which flies in the face of the U.S. Constitution. The first two seemingly are very straightforward/essentially black and white and elicit much less controversy than the latter.
Conversely, millions of Muslims adhere to/propose to adhere to Sharia law and this is where the rubber meets the road because the tenets of Sharia law fly in the face of the U.S. Constitution which I respectfully believe should supersede any religious tenet or any other law in the U.S. This is where Muslim assimilation to our American culture/ Judeo Christian heritage and English/U.S law appear to be most difficult and a constant thorn/sticking point. I’m openly amenable to work openly and harmoniously with Muslims on those areas where we agree/where we can work together to amicably and equitably to work things out, but make no mistake about it I’m justifiably adamantly nonnegotiable on the preeminence of the U.S. Constitution and I respectfully believe patriotic Americans to include patriotic Muslim Americans should be too.

Obama has our world turned upside down because of his Muslim faith. Just look at his failed policies in Syria, Iraq, Libya, and his nuclear deal with Iran. When George Bush left office, he had a plan to leave a contingent of American troops in Iraq in order to help it survive. Obama came in and removed all American military from Iraq, which left a vacuum and Al queda and the Sunnis (who were dissatisfied with the Shiites not including them in governing Iraq) formed an alliance (ISIS) to form a Caliphate in Syria and Iraq.
Then Obama told Syria if they used WMDs they would cross a red line. Syria used WMDs and Obama turned to Putin to help him out of this situation. Thus Russia now has a stronghold in Syria.
Obama and Hillary decided Gadaffi needed to go from Libya. They initiated a bombing campaign, in cohoots with The EU, to isolate Gadiffi which allowed Al Qaeda elements to kill him. This left a vacuum there and many of its citizens started fleeing the country.
In Egypt (one of our strong allies) Obama used taxpayer money to oust Hosi Mubarak and install a Black Muslim Brotherhood man by the name of Mohamed Morsi. Fortunately for us, the military staged an overthrow of Morsi and now has a strong military leader turned politician.
As a result of Obama’s failed policies, we have millions of Refugees from Syria and Libya displaced and seeking a new home. What needs to be done is to settle Obama’s mistakes and the Refugee problem would disappear. Syria needs to have a new government that does not include Assad, and the Libyan people need to form a government that will not include ISIS or Al Qaeda.
The election of Donald Trump will solve a lot of problems that Obama and Hillary have bestowed on our country.
