Fox News: 3 hints Michelle Obama will run in 2020

Fox News star Tucker Carlson may have uncovered a huge 2020 Democratic presidential primary secret — and it’s so explosive, Michelle Obama has spent months trying to discredit it

But if rumors are true, three hints show Michelle Obama may follow in her husband’s footsteps and join the presidential race in some fashion in the next few months.

“If you’re wondering who the Democratic nominee will be, don’t bet against Michelle Obama,” Carlson said on his primetime Fox News show Monday night. “Last week, the former first lady issued a statement claiming she has no interest in being president — but there are signs that it’s not true.”

Carlson pointed to three coincidences that hint the Obamas may be planning a late primary entrance for the former first lady.

The first hint? Obama is staying very, very quiet.

“If Obama had endorsed Biden, the race would be over … but Obama hasn’t endorsed Joe Biden because he doesn’t want to,” Carlson pointed out.

“Why? Maybe he’s got other plans.”

The second hint? The Obamas are moving pieces behind the scenes.

“Obama’s presidential memoir was also supposed to come out this year,” he continued. “Now, its release has been delayed until the middle of the Democratic primaries. In other words, at exactly the moment when Democrats will be thinking deeply about how to beat Trump, America will be talking about the Obamas.”

“Coincidence? Maybe,” Carlson said. “Maybe it’s also a coincidence that Michelle Obama just released yet another book last week. One that will require her … to get on the road and talk to crowds.”

“The Democratic Party is ripping itself apart over race and gender and class,” Carlson concluded. “Michelle Obama — let’s be honest — is one of the only people who could unite the party’s warring factions.”

Carlson pointed to positive polling numbers for the former first lady as further evidence she would consider a run.

The Obamas are historically very, very calculated — and polling done over the summer has shown the former first lady would instantly become a frontrunner in New Hampshire primary if she declared her formal campaign.

Modern politics has taught American voters to expect the unexpected.

“One of the main lessons of Donald Trump’s 2016 election is that you never really know,” Carlson pointed out. “Unexpected things happen far more often than we imagine.”

Finally, for the third big hint, Carlson reminded his audience that this wouldn’t be the first time the Obamas had pulled off this exact political stunt.

Carlson cited a 2006 clip of Barack Obama insisting he had no plans to launch a White House bid in 2008.

“Just months after he did that, Barack Obama joined the presidential race,” the Fox News star said.

“Three years later, almost to the day, he was inaugurated president of the United States.”
