A Texas-based conservative radio talk show host was killed in a tragic accident Tuesday after being struck by an Amtrak train while jogging.

Fans of Michael “Doc” Thompson, 49 mourned the sudden death of the radio star and co-host of the “Doc Thompson Daily Mojo” on Wednesday morning in Dallas.

Thompson was a host on The Blaze, a conservative media outlet owned by Glenn Beck, for six years prior.

Authorities say Thompson was jogging near the railroad tracks in Haltom City, Texas around 3:45pm when he was struck. Police reportedly found a pair of wireless headphones near the scene of the accident, but can’t say definitively if they were Thompson’s.

“Doc was one of those one-in-a million talents, who was the same on the air as off the air,” Beck told The Blaze. “But what made him truly unique was that he truly tried to serve his audience, those who were less fortunate and struggling, as well as the small entrepreneurs who were clients of his show.”

“Doc was one of the more gregarious guys I know,” Beck said on his own radio show Wednesday morning. “He was the ultimate entrepreneur. He left us to start his own business. He loved new businesses and because of Doc, many businesses are flourishing because he would take them under his wings.”

“He just always had a positive attitude and a can-do spirit, and we are devastated as a family and devastated for his family,” Beck said.

Thompson is survived by his wife and three children in Arkansas, from where the “Daily Mojo” host commuted to the Dallas area for his show.

A GoFundMe account, set-up in Thompson’s honor, had received over $100,000 dollars in donations for his family by Thursday morning.
