House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi tells voters that she has America’s best interest at heart — but while the government was shut down and thousands of government employees out of work during Christmas, Pelosi wasn’t worried.

Quite the opposite, in fact. She was having the time of her life.

While thousands of Americans were out of work because of Pelosi’s refusal to secure America’s southern border, Fox News reported that the liberal lawmaker was busy partying it up on an expensive vacation to Hawaii.

Pelosi spent the weekend at Kona, Hawaii’s expensive Fairmont Orchid resort, where the cheapest room costs over $600 a night. It’s assumed by critics that Pelosi flew out to the island to ring in the New Year in style.

“Inspired by culture, well-being and genuine aloha, Fairmont Orchid is a luxury Hawaii Island resort and spa beautifully located on the majestic Kohala Coast,” the company’s website boasts. “Immerse yourself in an authentic Big Island vacation experience, surrounded by 32 oceanfront acres of lush tropical gardens, cascading waterfalls and a tranquil white sand beach and lagoon. From sunrise canoe voyages to sunset torch lighting ceremonies, an incredible array of outdoor adventures is yours to explore.”

While the entire federal government is shut down and everyday Americans struggle to afford their bills, Pelosi is living-it-up in a paradise built for millionaires.

President Donald Trump, meanwhile, has scratched his plans for a New Year’s Eve celebration with his friends and colleagues in Florida.

“He canceled his plans for Christmas, now he’s canceled his plans for New Year’s,” White House Chief of Staff Mick said. “The president is very heavily engaged in this.”

Trump called on Democratic leaders to come back from their holiday vacations and re-start the negotiations on Twitter early Monday.

I’m in the Oval Office. Democrats, come back from vacation now and give us the votes necessary for Border Security, including the Wall. You voted yes in 2006 and 2013. One more yes, but with me in office, I’ll get it built, and Fast!

The partial government shutdown is in its second week over Trump’s demand for $5 billion for the wall.

Despite controlling both the Senate and the House, establishment Republican senators left for the holidays refusing to vote on any bills until all sides, including Democrats, were in agreement.
