Hollywood star and liberal actor Matt Damon is fed up with President Donald Trump — and he’s moving to Australia to get away!
That’s according to The New York Post, which reported Thursday that Damon had bought a house in Byron Bay, New South Wales… in part because of wanting to get his family away from Trump.
See ya later!
Damon’s publicist went into damage control as soon as the report came out, loudly denying that the 47-year-old liberal was fleeing America.
But industry insiders tell a different tale.
“Matt’s telling friends and colleagues in Hollywood that he’s moving the family to Australia because the activist actor disagrees with Trump’s policies,” an insider told The Post’s Page Six.
According to this insider, “Matt’s saying the move will not impact his work — as he will travel to wherever his projects are shooting. He’s also telling friends he wants to have a safe place to raise his kids.”
Damon’s latest movie, “Downsizing” was a critical and commercial flop, and he’s currently looking for a leading role in Hollywood.
Before the election, Damon was outspokenly “nervous” about Trump being elected.
“There’s no way we can let this guy be [president]. To let that dude have the nuclear football, are you kidding me?” Damon said in 2016. “He’s impulsive and rash, and doesn’t seem to think deeply about too many things.”
Good-bye, Matt Damon. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out!
