Clayton Morris stunned viewers Monday when he announced he was leaving his position as co-host of Fox & Friends weekend edition.

The morning show veteran became choked up as he told viewers, “I’ve decided after 18 years in broadcast television… that today would be my last day in television.”

A visibly upset Morris, who hosted Good Day Philadelphia on WTXF for nine years prior to joining Fox News, then joked that he needed a commercial break to regain his composure.

His co-hosts rolled a lighthearted compilation clip of Morris’ nine years as a Fox News morning show star, including some memorable segments and fun activities he’d hosted.

Morris didn’t reveal his next plans, but hinted it would be in the financial sector and not in television.

“I’m excited about this new chapter in my life, and I don’t think you’ll ever see me on television ever again. So I’m not going anywhere else,” Morris said.

“I’m just going to spend time with my family and focus on projects I’m passionate about; helping people build wealth and passive income, and helping empower people. That’s what I want to spend… maybe the next 40 years of my life doing,” Morris concluded.

Fox & Friends co-hosts Abby Huntsman and Pete Hegseth then each took a moment to praise Morris.

Hegseth called him a “great broadcaster and an even greater guy.”

Huntsman agreed, saying: “We both look up to you. You’ve taught us so much.”
