Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson is a fitness advocate, a man of God, and a well-liked radio show personality — and when his local gym found out he didn’t support Democrats, they bullied and harassed him.
So much for liberal tolerance and understanding!
“It was shocking. I still can’t really believe it… I’m stunned still. Today I had an invitation to do a radio interview with Bill Cunningham,” Peterson explains in a video. He rushed to the gym to get squeeze in a quick workout right after his interview, something he’d done many times before.
Technical problems forced Peterson to leave his normal interview location, he says. The radio host “couldn’t hear me because my cell phone kept going in and out, and I found an open door that looked like an engineering room or a janitor’s room… no one was in there … and the engineer [from the Cunningham show] said, ‘Don’t move, we can hear you now’ when a man claiming to be a manager approached and demanded, ‘No, no, you’ve got to go!’”
The man stopped while Peterson explained he was involved in a live interview, so the manager stood and listened… and when Peterson, a black man, said during the interview that Democrats are the true racists in the United States, things quickly spun out of control.
When the context of the interview became clear, a second manager – identified as Scott – was summoned and allegedly got into Peterson’s personal space and shouted that he had to leave.
That’s when Peterson, trying to conduct an interview for a radio show, lost his temper and said, “Get the f— out of my face.”
When the interview concluded, a calmer Peterson went to apologize for losing his cool, but it was too late — the managers refused his apology and instead began to harass him for being a supporter of Donald Trump.
“Ohh, is THAT what this is about!?” Peterson asks.

“I’ve been told over and over again that my gym is predominately liberal,” Peterson explained. He said he went to talk to his friends and tell them what had happened, and was followed and bullied by the staff. According to Peterson, the management then threw him out… despite him being well-liked and a regular, paying customer for many years.
“Liberals are supposed to be tolerant. But they’re liars – they are intolerant,” Peterson said.
