[CPAC] Ted Cruz: New Supreme Court seat will open this summer

Appearing before a packed house at the Conservative Political Action Convention (CPAC) 2017 in Washington, D.C., Thursday, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz made a stunning prediction on the Supreme Court after Neil Gorsuch is confirmed –

“This summer, I believe we’re going to have another Supreme Court vacancy,” Cruz predicted.

And it will forever remake America, Cruz predicted, for conservatives

“If you think the left is going crazy now, they’re going to go full Armageddon,” because the next vacancy will give legal constitutionalists the opportunity to “go on the offensive” and fill the Supreme Court with conservatives.

Cruz made the stunning predictions while sitting down with conservative editor Mark Levin in front of a packed house.

During the talk, Cruz also blasted the liberal court systems: “There are few things, if anything, more important than putting a constitutional literalist on the Supreme Court.”

“Mark my words,” Cruz told the cheering crowd. “Neil Gorsuch will be confirmed.”

He went on to talk about the conflicts in Congress, and unleashed on liberals. “The Democrats are living in an alternate universe,” the Texas senator said.

“The anger on the left… I haven’t seen anything like this. They’re opposing everything. The Democrats in the Senate are filibustering anything. This is the longest we’ve been since George Washington without a cabinet,” Cruz said, because Democrats are fearful of the anger of their base.

“There’s a technical term for their base,” Cruz said.

“Moscow,” Levin quipped.

“I was going for bat-crap crazy,” Cruz replied before he predicted it would get worse. “The lesson they took from this election is that Hillary is too moderate. Democrats think they need more Bernie Sanders, more Elizabeth Warren. And I think it’s likely they will oppose everything.”

As conservatives, Cruz said, “our answer can’t be, well, just shut down everything. There are tools we can use to beat this. There are times I’ve lifted a glass to toast Harry Reid, because he broke the rules to change the rules” and gave the Republican-controlled Congress the ability to overcome liberal anger.

“So on behalf of CPAC, let me thank Harry Reid. Thanks to Harry Reid, we have Attorney General Jeff Sessions. And thanks to Harry Reid, we have EPA head Scott Pruitt and Education Secretary Betsy DeVos. And very, very soon I look forward to thanking Harry Reid for Supreme Court Justice Gorsuch.”

We’ll toast to that.
