[Bias Alert] Sorry, WaPo, but we remembered

January 13, 2017 By: Stephen Dietrich

  • Post

Sorry, mainstream media, but the internet doesn’t forget.

Recent social media posts have brought back to light a scathing article from October titled, “There is no possible way Donald Trump’s team actually believes this is their path to 270” printed by The Washington Post — and months later, it’s a great read.

Because critics of the media can point to this article as undeniable proof that the mainstream media is completely biased and unfair.

In it, The Washington Post’s Philip Bump attacked then-campaign manager Kellyanne Conway’s appearance on the short-lived Trump TV, produced by the President-elect Donald Trump’s campaign during the lead up to November.

And Bump was harsh.

[Conway] was arguing that Trump had a viable path to victory, using, in the email, a map that resembles some other race than the one that we’re in. In reality, the race we’re living through shows Trump is at risk of losing Arizona, Texas and Georgia — all states that Romney won.

Trump won all of those states by approximately 20 points.

The only problem is that the foundation of Conway’s argument — that map — is so bafflingly distant from reality that it’s hard to think this isn’t somehow an inside joke.

Conway’s map was 100% correct.

This map comports with the state of the race, according to public polls. I mean, look. Clinton has a 6.2-point lead in Pennsylvania. She’s up 6.5 points in Wisconsin. She’s up 10 in Michigan. She leads in Colorado by 8 and Virginia by 10. Those are margins that put those states easily out of reach.

Trump won Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan.

But that’s why Conway used the language she did in that Trump TV segment … The numbers don’t show a close race. They show a race that it will be very hard for Trump to win without a massive, collective underestimation of his levels of support.

Whoops!

Then, The Washington Post really hits the nail on the head with their tongue-in-cheek attack on conservative media:

The map Conway sent in the email was the best semi-believable map they could think of, and even then, Trump struggled to reach a tie.

But on Trump TV, viewers didn’t get any of this ‘spin.’ They just got the unvarnished truth, straight from the people responsible for getting Trump into striking distance: Trump’s in striking distance. On Nov. 8, I fully expect Trump TV to say that Trump actually won.

Spin?

Looks like conservatives and the Trump campaign were the ones basking in reality, and it the mainstream media was simply lying to America… again.

We at The Horn News understand the desperation of the mainstream media.

They’re losing their control of the news. For decades, the corporate spin machine decided how Americans would get their information. Corporate media decided what the majority believed, because they were the ones controlling the narrative.

In the past few years, the media has lost that control.

In their place, The Horn News and others have filled the spin vacuum with facts… and the mainstream is NOT happy about it.

So they’re on the offensive, ready to pounce.

Fortunately for conservatives, we have truth on our side — and it put our man in the White House.

Sorry, Washington Post, but we remembered.

My main reply is “awaiting moderation”. ??? The programs I mentioned were both produced by NBC–big surprise. One was “Nightingales” (1989) and “The Book of Daniel” (2005). You can find information on both in Wikipedia. It will give a synopsis and explain why they were dropped. “Te Book of Daniel” made it to episode 4 and had only one advertiser by then–Burlington Coat Factory.

To Connie Condra——This “awaiting moderation” is a term used by Disqus. which means if your opinion doesn’t jive with theirs, it doesn’t get published. I don’t use vile language, but I am a patriot and my views do not agree with those supporting Hildebeest. So my posts are also held up or disregarded. They certainly are not a proponent of free speech. Disqus is part of the swamp Trump is draining………………..

      • Constitutionalist says

        January 13, 2017 at 1:16 pm

        Mikeyavelli-
i beg to differ as to size of hoax; if one seriously investigates the “income” tax, one will find no law specifying that everyone has to pay it. In fact, most do NOT(and cannot, according to the legal definition of “pay” as opposed to “discharge”). SCOTUS has often ruled that the 16th Amendment “imposes no new tax” and “is in the nature of an excise tax,” that is, upon engaging in a “privileged activity,” e.g. rental income, stock/bond income, or from working for the Federal government. If one wishes to inform their discretion, one place to begin might be with the legal definition the IRS uses for the word “income.” (i also have a website or two to recommend if any express an interest in the subject matter.)

This one hoax has cost Americans trillions, and continues to do so, for most remain deceived.

As to watching MSM, i turned off the teevee – that hypnotic medium designed specifically to make us susceptible to “programming”(quite literally), indoctrination, and propaganda more than five years ago. If i watch anything these days, it’s on youtube.

i’m glad that the writers for The Horn have reinforced the suggestion that getting REAL news is MUCH better coming from the internet, but even with that, it’s rare that it should be trusted on first glance; it’s smart to check things out with other sources, too, before even BEGINNING to believe anything found on the internet…for as many already know, the internet can also be a place for DISinformation, as well.

The main problem i have with The Horn is their repetitious promotion of a system of governance the F&F were well-aware was a pernicious evil, “democracy,” especially by continually referring to it as “our” democracy. One need go no farther than the Pledge of Allegiance to know what form of governance we DO have, but if one desires more proof, they can word-search the Constitution(CTRL f in the Word program) for “democracy.” It cannot be found there…and the Constitution is the SUPREME Law of the United States AND the UNITED STATES. (if you do not yet know the distinction between the proper capitalization and ALL CAPS, you should; learn it.)

        • `Connie Condra says

          January 13, 2017 at 1:30 pm

Another hoax–Social Security. First, it was never meant to be one’s total support. It was meant as a “safety net.” Second, FDR “promised” that it “would never be taxed.” PROMISED! That is the only way he could get it through Congress. If you want to royally screw something up, let the federal government manage it.

          • Constitutionalist says

            January 13, 2017 at 5:13 pm

            ‘Connie –
Yep; originally, it was also NEVER to be used for identification purposes, either.

In addition, here’s something else i learned about the SSN:

TITLE 5 – GOVERNMENT ORGANIZATION AND EMPLOYEES
PART I – THE AGENCIES GENERALLY
            CHAPTER 5 – ADMINISTRATIVE PROCEDURE
            SUBCHAPTER II – ADMINISTRATIVE PROCEDURE
Sec. 552a. Records maintained on individuals
            -STATUTE-
            (a) Definitions. – For purposes of this section –
            (13) the term ”Federal personnel” means officers and employees of the Government of the United States, members of the uniformed services (including members of the Reserve Components), individuals entitled to receive immediate or deferred retirement benefits under any retirement program of the Government of the United States (including survivor benefits).

Perhaps you can see that from the beginning, the SSN program was designed to steal from the People their Inalienable rights as one of We the People, and convert all those Rights into 14th Amendment “privileges and immunities” by changing your status to that of “Federal Personnel.”

This situation was foretold in the bible, several times and in several ways; one such example is “Let their table become a snare and a trap unto them” and “when you sit down to eat with a ruler, put a knife to your throat if you are given to have an appetite.”

When you have sought and accepted the “benefits” of Caesar, they come at a price: your Headship. i read a quite good thesis that the SSN is the “number of the Beast,” too – and i know of one guy from Virginia that successfully got a driver’s license without an SSN by objecting to it’s use on religious grounds.

I admit that I was not a Trump supporter from the get-go, did vote for him. I am still somewhat uncomfortable with his brusque manner, but am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and support him unless or until he does something that I cannot support. Leaders are, for the most part, human. They can and do make mistakes. If they own up to those mistakes and try to correct them, I have no problem. Obviously, those qualifiers mean that I have/had BIG problems with Obama. So far, I have been pleased and pleasantly surprised by Mr. Trump’s nominations. We gave Obama 8 years of chances and he d@mn near destroyed this country. I am quite willing to give Mr. Trump a chance to do his best. One suggestion I would make to him is to ignore criticism from irrelevant persons (i.e. Meryl Streep and the rest other Follywood liberal snowflakes.) To respond to them is demeaning at best and damaging at worst. Any attention he pays to such persons increases their credibility. Ignoring them underscores their irrelevance. His focus should be on the citizens of this nation, whether or not they voted for him. By doing that, he will win over those who opposed him. Stubborn petulance and narcissism are the hallmarks of the individual who will be unemployed at 12:01 on January 20. The Oval Office has “glass” walls and someone will always be waiting to throw a rock through one. That does not mean that Mr. Trump has to throw the rock back. His best defense is to quietly do the job and let the results speak for him.

One of the first objectives both Hitler and Stalin had in mind during their rise
to power was to control the media. Ask yourself who is in control of the media in America today, and you will know which groups control what information the American public will be allowed to receive. That information doesn’t necessarily need to be true, and it seems that the American public
is too lazy, or unwilling, to make the effort required to verify what has come to be called “fake news” for themselves. Hypnotic induction works in much the same way, until resistance
to its agenda disappears, and full control of a people’s collective minds
and hearts has been achieved. At that point, whether the citizens realize the
gravity of having been asleep at the wheel or not, a country can be taken over without a shot having been fired.
I no longer have the slightest amount of faith in our religious or political leaders’ ability to take the necessary steps to ensure that this progressive deterioration of the American republic can, or will, be reversed. What, in my opinion has happened, is that the American people are too stupid, these days, to realize the danger(s) involved
in holding a “let someone else do it” mindset.
While I am disgusted with what I believe I’m seeing on the American horizon, I will continue to do my best to hold on to the values I believe we should all share, and act accordingly.

When we talked they kept telling me the same things we need these people this country is going against everything we stand for. These were not rich or educated idiots they were everyday Americans who were very fed up. Even more amazing they looked poor but they all wanted to put money in the pot to pay for the campaign signs they were getting. Through all of this I kept seeing the rays of hopes. The main stream media is like most really big industries; they are looking for fame and profit and can’t be counted on for doing the right thing. Unfortunately, power is corrupting. For this reason, although we want to promote Constitutional freedom of speach, we have to monitor and personally assess the “news” that is reported. Fortunately, there are many, many resources for obtaining information at this point. It’s just frustrating to spend so much time trying to weed out personal opinions and agendas from the simple facts. In my humble opinion, I believe hyper news distribution should be left as fodder for the intertainment “rags.” President Elect Trump has certainly blown the complacent acceptance of the “news” as reported! Good for him! The wake up America call has been issued! It’s good to know not everyone has been asleep too long to listen.

This morning I was watching Varney and comp on Fox, and he said that he thought that had Biden Ran He would have beaten Donald Trump, and I am one who supported Trump all the way threw and so I would just like to say this,,
I don’t know why people who were watching the polls didn’t see that what the left was doing every time Trump got into the lead in the polls They would find a way to stack the deck and she would run ahead of him but for the life of me I couldn’t see how even Fox could be so wrong about what was going on.. I’m also sorry Varney but You were wrong this morning too.. Donald Trump was ahead the whole intire way and the American people just made sure that they didn’t cause to much dust up but they went to hear him at his rallies. and if all these left leaning people believed so much in old Hildaebeast. Why couldn’t she get anyone to come to her Rallies and sit there and listen to her knock the whole world because she was losing..
Now they again want us to believe that she didn’t really lose.. but she did… and the left needs to get over it..
Its was up to Mr Trump what he had decided to do about her, but I feel that he made a big mistake by not just saying when asked what he was going to do about her that he would make that decision after he had looked at all the Paper work. and let it go at that.. but by telling the lap dog media that he would do nothing to her. he turned lose her dogs on him and I don’t know about anyone else but Her and Obama are behind this latest hit job,, They are trying to mortally wound him before he gets in office and all I can is that Schumer and Mc Cain are the ones who made sure this mess leaked out and If I was McCain
I would keep a low profile for the next four years Your back side. is now on the chopping block.

That rag isn’t fit for bird cage liner. They keep spewing their hatred and lies and call others haters and liars. The internet will kill the lame stream propaganda machine, that’s why Obama and his ilk were trying to gain control of the internet.

The polls got it wrong in Kentucky’s 2014 senate race and 2015 statewide races. In 2014 Mitch McConnell’s opponent was supposed to be slightly ahead of him heading into the election–he won re-election in a landslide. In 2015 news media reported on election day that the Democrat candidate held a comfortable lead in the final poll before election day. Later that night the Democrat candidate lost in a landslide to the Republican candidate. Most of the other stars of Kentucky’s Democrat party lost in their attempts to win statewide offices.

We need to realize the only poll that makes the difference is the one conducted at the voting booth. The media’s eagerness to declare Hillary the winner may have backfired. Some Hillary supporters may have decided to stay home since they thought she had the race locked up.

What can you expect from a guy with a name like Bump. He just thinks he’s getting even for people laughing at his name. Now he’s given them a reason. Not because of his name but because of how stupid and biased he really is. Sore about his last name. Change it. Don’t act like an spoiled brat.

The CIA is a shadow government within the government. No one can even tell you what the CIA’s annual budget is. They have their own agendas besides those of elected officials. The FBI has dropped the ball once again concerning Hillary’s emails and illegal server, the foreign government hacking that has been going on for years and lastly they dropped the ball on Esteban Santiago, the shooter at Fort Lauderdale Airport just like they dropped the ball also on the two radical brothers that set off bombs at the Boston marathon. All examples on how the government cannot protect us. We must do our own vigilance and report anything we feel is out of the ordinary or suspicious.

The Arizona Daily Star in Sh@thole Loser Coty Tucson is a super Liberal newspaper that is a pile of sh@t, that paper is only good for burning trash. The Arizona Daily Star is in the same Liberal League with the Washington Post. I prefer to read the San Diego Union Tribune, the Los Angeles Times, the Denver Post those 3 newspapers are far more Conservative than the Arizona Daily Star, Washington Post.

My family and I avoid the MSM trolls and have been doing so since the Bill Clinton days which revealed the Criminal Cartel that they brought with them, right into every branch of our Government. It was readily accepted then and is rabidly protected now by the majority of our elected officials, from local all the way up to POTUS. We became supporters of Donald J. Trump early into the announcement of the herd of GOP candidates. Our primary reason is the fact that Mr. Trump is a businessman, not a politician. Our secondary reason was because Mr. Trump had the audacity to point out the bias of the MSM and their overbearing attitude that their job was to “make the news, not report the news”. If the “real news” did not fit the agenda they wanted to put forward or in support of the candidate “they picked for us”, then there was no barrier to prevent them from producing what we now know as “Fake News”. The most admirable quality I personally admire about Mr. Trump is that he says what he thinks in very plain, understandable language, leaving no one with any question as to exactly what his thoughts or ideas are. WE, the “deplorables” are now the enemy of the MSM because we supported Mr. Trump, a man we proudly call ‘President-Elect Donald J. Trump’ and believe will “Make America Great Again”. In five days we can refer to him as “President Donald J. Trump” and there is nothing the MSM nor any of the anti-America groups of trolls can do to stop that. Finally, America Wins!!!
