Trump gets NUCLEAR threat from China

December 12, 2016 By: Stephen Dietrich

For eight years, our so-called “friends” in China have pushed President Barack Obama around, getting every kind of favorable treatment imaginable.

Now that President-elect Donald Trump is promising to change that, the Chinese are furious — and used a provocative nuclear bomber fly-by to send a message to the U.S. that we’d better keep playing ball.

And experts say the move proves how nervous the Asian giant is that America is back in charge.

China said Monday that it had “serious concern” about Trump’s most recent comments about Taiwan, and warned that any changes to how America deals with the self-governing island could damage diplomatic ties between Washington and Beijing.

China’s comments came a day after Trump said in a television interview that he didn’t feel “bound by a one-China policy.”

Geng Shuang, a spokesman for China’s foreign ministry, said that established policy is the “political foundation” of any diplomatic relationship between China and the U.S., and that any damage to it could render cooperation “out of the question.”

“We urge the new U.S. leader and government to fully understand the seriousness of the Taiwan issue, and to continue to stick to the one-China policy,” Geng said.

It wasn’t just words the Chinese used to send a message. According to Fox News, “China flew a long-range nuclear-capable bomber outside China for the first time since President-elect Donald Trump spoke with the president of Taiwan, two US officials told Fox News. The dramatic show of force was meant to send a message to the new administration, according to the officials. It marks the second time Beijing flew bombers in the region since Trump was elected.”

Since recognizing the People’s Republic of China in 1979, the U.S. has adhered to the one-China policy, recognizing Beijing as the capital of China and maintaining only unofficial relations with Taiwan. American law, however, requires the U.S. to ensure that Taiwan has the means to defend itself and to treat all threats to the island as matters of serious concern.

China split from Taiwan amid civil war in 1949 and continues to regard the island as a breakaway province to be reunified with the mainland, by force if necessary.

Geng’s comments are the strongest public condemnation China has made of Trump’s criticisms of current American policy toward Taiwan.

Beijing was already angered by Trump’s Dec. 2 phone call with Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen, the first time an American president or president-elect has publicly spoken to a Taiwanese leader in nearly four decades. China considers any reference to a separate Taiwanese head of state to be a grave insult.

Trump followed the call with two tweets accusing China of manipulating its currency, unfairly taxing American imports and provoking tensions in the South China Sea.

Over the weekend, he told “Fox News Sunday” that he wouldn’t feel “bound by a one-China policy unless we make a deal with China having to do with other things, including trade.”

Trump said his call with Tsai was “very nice” and strictly meant to congratulate him on his winning the presidential election.

“Why should some other nation be able to say I can’t take a call?” he said. “I think it actually would’ve been very disrespectful, to be honest with you, not taking it.”

Insiders say that the call was a shrewd political move by Trump, intending to drive China back to the bargaining table.

“Trump’s controversial phone call with Taiwan’s leader was planned weeks in advance,” The Daily Beast reported. “Sources familiar with the matter said Trump’s advisory team had planned the phone as a provocative stunt to portray Trump as a radical change from previous presidents”

Hours after the interview aired, China’s Communist Party-controlled Global Times published a Chinese-language editorial headlined: “Trump, please listen clearly: ‘One China’ cannot be traded.”

“China needs to launch a resolute struggle with him,” the editorial said. “Only after he’s hit some obstacles and truly understands that China and the rest of the world are not to be bullied will he gain some perception.”

“Many people might be surprised at how the new U.S. leader is truly a ‘businessman’ through-and-through,” the paper said, referring to Trump’s suggestion of using the one-China policy as a bargaining chip. “But in the field of diplomacy, he is as ignorant as a child.”

Such a public temper tantrum by the Chinese authorities does portray one side as childish — and it’s not Trump.

Our Congress and industrialists would rather send American jobs to bolster a communist nation than to pay American workers a fair wage. Trump is correct on this one.

The Congress is in bed because that is what the big money donors want. Every few years the politicians play Conservative and American to get reelected (play the American people for chumps). Many of the business class don’t care about the American worker or the Country because they bow and worship the all might buck. Just look at the words from the CEO of United Technologies about the Mexican workers making $20 per day and doing as good a job as the Indiana Carrier workers.

This whole matter is and always should have been a matter between the two Chinas’. This is just like Israel and “Palestine’ where the issues are between those two countries alone. Meddling in the private affairs of China or Israel are not what America or Trump should be doing. We have no reason to favour Main Land China over Taiwan as if we chose one or the other we will loose one of them. Main Land China has nothing to be proud of in the treatment that they hand out to Taiwan. Taiwan are not the bad guys here just as Israel are not the bed guys in the middle east.

If China wants to go there with the US, fine. Let’s nationalize everything China owns in the US, and devalue the bonds they bought to pennies on the dollar. That would likely collapse China’s economy, and they know it. Further, we can pull out of China on nuclear power plant construction projects and let them continue to read in the dark in their empty cities.

Just bought some Spicer Ujoints for my Dodge pu. 5 were made in the USA and one was made in China. The USA made ones fit perfectly and the China one not worth a hoot. You can guess which one will fail first. Last Chinese made one went one year and failed. I called Spicer and told them if they expect to stay in business they better make their parts in the USA. I don’t care if they cost me triple at least I won’t be having to replace them every year. I also told them to tell their CEO that if they are going to sell crap made in China I will buy the cheapest Chinese made part out there because it is going to be just as good as their parts made in China. I then told the rep I was talking to that his job depended on my business as well so he better pass the message on. He told me that even if made in China their quality was the same and I quickly informed him that was BS because I install parts everyday and the Chinese parts are ill fitting and have a higher failure rate including Spicer’s. By the way Spicer is the only Ujoints available in my area that are mostly made in the USA. All the other brands available in my area are made in China and are ill fitting, early failing junk.

It’s much easier to negotiate when you don’t agree with the other side’s premises at the beginning of talks.

China watches out for what is in its best interest. That’s why they manipulate the currency and engage in a variety of other actions that are not helpful to the U.S. We need to stop making deals which are better for the other side than for America. Donald Trump understands that simple concept. President Obama never understood that concept.

“Trump said his call with Tsai…” (quoted from the article, not quoted from Trump) I keep seeing this. Tsai called, not Trump. It was Tsai’s call with Trump.
China’s position: What is China’s most significant single export market for its production? What happens if China loses this market? Beyond that, Obama has borrowed billions from China. There is an economic principle that the debtor “owns” the creditor, insofar as the financial health of the debtor determines the ability of the debtor to repay the creditor. Until, of course, like Obamacare, there is no possibility whatsoever the debtor will ever be able to make a repayment – at which point the creditor rationally should cease to support the debtor, as should have long ago been done with the ACA (and was promised by the Republican House electees in 2014, but we saw what happened there). We better hope China doesn’t make that assessment about the U.S.

    • Constitutionalist says

      December 12, 2016 at 4:08 pm

      Francisco Machado-
      An astute assessment, imo.
However, if China DOES decide that it’s in their national interest to NOT have Trump as a president, they’d better decide to start war NOW.
They are probably more aware than MOST Americans that D’OweBama has reduced the power of the US military a HUGE amount during his treasonous occupancy, to the point, for example, that we have fewer ships than at any time since before WW1, if i recall correctly.

And this, of course, would be ANOTHER reason to cultivate friendship – albeit with a “trust-but-verify” alertness – with Russia. If we successfully ally to destroy ISIS and other similar Islamic terror organizations, this could bode well for any negative interactions with China, given their proximity to one another. i think what China fears most at this point is losing the incredibly biased-toward-China “trade” agreements which have increased the wealth of their citizenry while impoverishing OURS. Trump, being a smart businessman, realizes that war will put an end to trade, therefore business, therefore wealth, so he’ll not want to either start or retaliate in such a way as to get one going, but figure out a way to reduce China’s profits without eliminating them, so Americans can prosper, too. IOW, i think he’d do his best to be fair and reasonable.

It’s also in the best interest of the US to get completely rid of Chinese debt, too…but that’ll take awhile.

The ancient Proverb, “The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is the slave of the lender” has great import, by way of reminder.

China is claiming hegemony over a major portion of the China Sea contravening international law. China manipulates their currency to maintain market advantage in violation of international law. China government maintains low cost production through controlled markets in violation of human rights. China complains when they are challenged. China rattles sabers as a threat from a paper tiger. Trump took a phone call that simply said congratulations. Where does it say China’s “One China” policy metaphorically erased Taiwan and Taiwan’s very present president ? This spin is like claiming States don”t have representatives within the “one nation” of the United States OR countries who joined the United Nations became one big blur of UN citizens who’s mother countries leaders should be given the silent treatment as if in joining UN, they somehow gave up rights to speak and be heard….Media is once again being ridiculous & extremely ignorant in grasping for straws to trash Trump….China is NOT rattling the bars because Taiwan’s president, like so many other leaders around the World, acknowledged the US presidential election’s WINNER. China is continuing to thumb their nose at Obama, and taunt Obama, as they have done all through Obama. This is still Obama’s term folks and China is taking advantage of his weakness to show the WORLD just how embolden & strong China has become with Obama’s idle threats. Obama sat back watching China’s obvious power plays into disputed red sea territory for over last 2 years. Come on folks, Obama has been warning China of unspecified “serious consequences” while belying any willingness to follow through with all his simultaneous preacher talk-talk-talk of finding a peaceful way… China’s simply pushing forward with their same old agenda under Obama at high speed adding notches in their power belt as planned. Obama will leave Trump a hell of a MESS Obama let escalate and is letting escalate right up to second Obama turns his back forever. Neither Trump or Taiwan are to blame. Anyone who believes media’s scapegoat spin that accepting “congratulations” to our president-elect triggered this is an Idiot. China buzzed possessively around Taiwan with nukes BEFORE the call. And the buzz flight’s course not about the island of TAIWAN. Taiwan is just one island in the drag net of multiple islands the flight path encircled. This was about the big picture of multiple key islands in the South China Sea that China through claiming unison with Taiwan has been asserting unilateral control over , despite other’s disputing China & Taiwan together as One China, claim of having the superior rights & interests. Control of them provides strategic control of the worlds busiest shipping lanes among other major things. Understand that combining both China and Taiwan’s rights together as belonging to “One China” makes “One China’s” territory claim significantly stronger in the island grab and island building that has been going on since early 2000. Its just since 2014, with Obama po-poing any harm during his 2nd term, of having strengthened China wealth, that China got super aggressive with that new wealth and began building artificial islands & airstrips to boot…Obama did nothing to stop them. This territory expansion is what China buzzed around saying “THIS IS ALL MINE.” They put the ball in Obama’s court giving him one last chance to oppose or basically sanction this territorial display of ownership and rights. This was a victory lap showcasing cumulation of Obama’s China legacy. Trump will inherit this. He did not cause any of it.

America first, that was the statement. Let the Chinese bring it on if they don’t like us looking out for ourselves first. It will be over in an afternoon.

As a former Democrat I must admit that I am gaining the most respect For President Trump. He is very serious about creating American jobs and improving the economy and on keeping his promise to make America Great, Unlike his predecessor who bow down to the world. Trump wont bow and will bring back the Respect that America has lost in the last 8 Years. If he has to step on some toes so be it.

It is amazing to me when I read these kind of statement from people who seen to want war. You know it will be nuclear war where no one survive. If not nuclear it will be something like the twin towers. Devastation everywhere. So be careful what you wish for. Because no one likes a bully.Oh by the way America did not lose respect under Obama. WE lost that under Bush. One man cannot do a whole lot by himself you need a team of people working together to make things happen.

Go Trump! Invade China like your predecessors did the Middle East, imprison the leaders and let them rot, as they watch their country awaken and reform into a truly glorious nation, not one held up by the political elite, who now control all the wealth and economy of China. And recognize officially Taiwan as a country. Give China the middle finger!
