The deadly flooding that has struck Louisiana is the worst natural disaster to strike the United States since Superstorm Sandy ravaged New Jersey.
It has destroyed the lives, businesses, and homes of tens of thousands of U.S. citizens. For many, it’s the worst thing that will ever happen to them.
But for President Barack Obama, it’s not worth canceling his tee time.
Thursday, Obama announced his refusal to interrupt his luxurious, taxpayer-subsidized vacation in New England to visit and meet with responders and victims.
What is ever more outrageous? Obama already took time from his vacation THIS WEEK to headline a Democratic Party fundraising reception on Martha’s Vineyard, the island playground for the rich and elite off the coast of Massachusetts.
It’s clear Obama’s priorities are golfing and political backscratching, not leading and helping U.S. citizens during their darkest hours.
Obama is completely indifferent to the suffering of thousands who were washed out of their homes in the Baton Rouge and Lafayette areas of the state. At least 13 people have died as a result of the flooding, and at one point 11,000 were in shelters.
In an editorial published Wednesday, The Advocate newspaper in Baton Rouge called on Obama to visit “the most anguished state in the union.”
The newspaper said Obama can and should visit now that the once-raging floodwaters are receding.
“The president’s vacation is scheduled to wrap up on Sunday. But he should pack his bags now, and pay a call on communities who need to know that in a national catastrophe, they are not alone,” the editorial said. “The president’s presence is already late to this crisis, but it’s better later than never.”
In 2005, then-President George W. Bush was faulted for flying over but not touching down in Louisiana in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. The federal government’s response to that natural disaster haunted Bush for the remainder of his presidency.
Where is the mainstream media outrage now?
Obama has issued no public or written statements about the flooding.
He’s playing with family, not leading his countrymen.

The resources now being used to help Louisiana citizens would have to be diverted to guard a Presidential Motorcade. I am in Louisiana. Our tiny state appears to be a target of a much bigger agenda. Whether you believe that HAARP is largely responsible for the crazy rainstorms and flooding of our state or if you believe that Gavin Long (shooter that killed 3 Baton Rouge policemen) was commissioned by an evil plot to come way down here from Kansas City, Missouri, one thing that is inarguable is that our governor, John Bel Edwards, is a close associate of Obama. The fact that Obama is not prioritizing the catastrophe occurring in Louisiana only serves to further implicate there is something much larger going on than what “meets the eye” of the average American. Louisiana is a poor state that shows up on the bottom of every kind of list imaginable except good food and obesity. We are an easy target to be a “test pilot” for the government’s Fema operations and depopulation agenda. They’re even trying to force/issue Fema ID numbers to individuals of Louisiana (source: a government and Fema representative). I remember how President Bush got a lot of critisizm over Katrina, but at least he sent funds to help after the hurricane. Ray Nagan wasn’t able to get the schoolbuses loaded with people and out of the flood areas, and Bobby Jindal had a rough time getting the Obama administration to help after the BP explosion on the oil rig and the oil spill that affected all of Louisianna’s coastline. I remember James Carville a Louisianna resident saying, “Man we’re dying down here.” Obama does not care about this country, he is much more interested in having fun as President, either at Martha’s vineyard or golfing in Hawaii or other courses. I think the people chose very unwisely and we are paying for it.

At a time when we have never before seen such debt (from which we may never recover thanks to our “president”), I feel there should be total transparency as to what is the total amount he has spent on vacations with his family while in office for BOTH terms. This amount must be staggering!!! Is there a way we can find out?

What an utter disgrace but apart from his absence (what about the raging & devasting fires in California) take 1 step back and consider the role of a president as head of the country. Surely it is his task and responsibility to consider the likelihood of national disasters and to take measures to prevent or limit such disasters. The cost of such measures is hugely overshadowed by the consequences and outcomes of the disasters taking place right now. So considering a cold blooded callous attitude by Obama (also to the sad loss of life and devestation to families affected), there is a deeper underlying factor of dereliction to duty and responsibility to his countrymen. Is it any wonder that he does not wish to face up to his severe shortcomings bordering on criminality!! Shame on you Obama and all your blood sucking stooges around you.
