An Italian restaurant in New Mexico is drawing criticism on social media for making merchandise with a slogan mimicking the Black Lives Matter movement.
News station KOAT-TV in Albuquerque reports that Paisano’s in Albuquerque is selling “black olives matter” shirts and hats after making national headlines for putting the phrase on a sign outside the restaurant.
Owner Rick Camuglia says he emblazoned the phrase on the restaurant’s main sign to sell a new recipe: a tuna dish with black olive tapenade.
Camuglia posted pictures of the dish and the sign on Facebook, drawing complaints he was being insensitive and trivializing a movement aimed at trying to stop police shootings of black residents.
Camuglia says he’s not trying to stir racial tensions and was only trying to sell food.

First off blm is a complete and utter joke!!! it is not about poor little black people getting killed innocently by police it is a movement to cause harm, destruction, and violence let a lone a free reign to loot, steal and destroy. Eight dead blacks in Chicago over the weekend and where are they??? Rampaging around Milwaukee because some hood got into a scuffle with a cop and was shot. Maybe when some of them really need the cops like the Black Panther leader in Florida did the will come away with a different outlook just like he did. Well said …. can someone from the BLM movement address the fact that many more blacks are killed by other blacks (i.e. the eight blacks killed in Chicago on the weekend for example, many among hundreds of examples I am sure…) … really , actually come out and make a statement explaining their views on that ….. it is just too easy to blame a white person, especially a white policeman. And do not try to tell anyone that the subtle encouragement for the murder of the Dallas policeman was not there!
Now, no one has any respect for Bill Cosby any more of course, but many years ago, when he was still respected, he made a statement, a heartfelt plea to other blacks to step up and help their own cause. It was basically about black men taking responsibility for the children that they have sired … stay around and help to raise them and provide a solid father figure. (Though of course, if you are a thug yourself … not much of an example!) The number of poor single mothers raising children no doubt is the cause of the crime and incarceration rate of young black males. Yes, the rate is very high, proportionately so, but one must assume that these people have committed a crime or they would not be in jail. The racial mess in the states does seem to be getting worse!
